Here's a video of Tarvaris Jackson, another of Miami's options in free agency.
He is what he is. Not the greatest of decision makers but he's got really good improv and big play ability, and he combines that with JUST enough bread and butter competency as far as reads and accuracy to get a look at the position. He's accurate to a degree but his inconsistent accuracy can get him in trouble, as can his lack of patience.
Ultimately I don't believe he'd beat Chad Henne for the job though.

The only free agent who has a legitimate chance of beating Chad Henne is Peyton Manning.

I don't buy into these part time video highlights of a player. Reminds me of a high school kid trying to get into college. I could make a video of Payton Manning, Tom Brady and Dan Marino all being bums and not worthy of playing in the NFL.
Those that make these videos are only trying to promote a player. -

One of his issues is he is poor against the blitz iirc rotoworld had a snippet about his accuracy dropping to 50% when the heat is applied.djphinfan likes this. -

If we wanted to spend a late pick to get a backup, I'd make a trade for Shaun Hill, assuming the Lions are willing to listen. Adam Froman looks to be a priority UDFA signing when those are allowed. -
So how would posting vids of Jackson and Snelling be helping this regime fail? Are we to envision Ireland trolling around here, spots the videos, and then excitedly gathers the pro scouts and Tony and says 'hey, how about these guys? We didn't think of them!!'

I know we don't see eye to eye on things, but sometimes you come across as being ignorant and your word is the way it is. We know you hate this regime and Henne. We know you want these guys to fail. Im sure you would love for TJ or VY to come here because those guys are bums making the Dolphins chances of winning very slim. In that case, we would get a new regime.
I'll give you some credit for knowing more players than me, but I think your still pissed at me for a issue last season. -
I just want to say I appreciate the posts that CK brings to the table. He research's the hell out of his posts and puts a serious amount of time into them. Sure a lot of them at first might make you say TLDR(JK lol), but I learned a long time ago that his posts and articles are tons more insightful then most of the articles you'll find in the local South Florida newspapers and have always made me glad that I have read his stuff (no matter how long it is).

Overall, considering I put in some work to amass and compile video clips on a guy that people around here are interested in and want to see, for you to come out guns blazing like you did is pretty classless. -
C'mon man, you're looking at it the wrong way. I haven't seen CK or any of the Universal staff try and "promote" anyone. Sure they feature some guys, but I mean, unless you're a diehard fantasy football fan or something, how would you have seen guys like Tarvaris Jackson and Jason Snelling play, ever?
Both guys have been linked to Miami once free agency gets rolling. I think it's nice to get a FREE preview of the guys before they're potentially brought in.ckparrothead likes this. -
I'm sorry, but what?
To say CK is promoting these guys is without a doubt a reach. Is he perfect? No, but if he has included every snap along the way over those two years then how is that promoting someone in the manner which you described? I would call that inclusive and thorough.
What else can he do to ensure he's impartial? I can't think of anything. I think you are confusing this video with a highlight video. And on that note I can say with some confidence neither CK or myself (and I say myself as we do the videos for UD) don't make highlight videos, we put a lot of player screwups and bad plays in there for that very reason.ckparrothead and MrClean like this. -
This thread certainly went in a strange direction quickly.
Back on topic. I believe Jackson brings the athleticism Sparano has stated and implied he wants from the QB. I just don't know if he brings the kind of accuracy and decision-making that Sparano wants. This regime really can't afford to bring on a reclamation project at QB, and Jackson is the current NFL poster child reclamation QB. Jackson feels like a guy who'll wind up in Arizona or Tennessee, not Miami.
Here's a name no one is really talking about, for all the right reasons: Matt Leinart.sws84 and ckparrothead like this. -

The thing that scares me is his video of TWO years is only 14:50. At least Young's was longer. Thanks for the video.

It's been a long offseason folks ... let's try to keep it on topic and not make it any longer.
