Was that actually the first TD he's given up in his young career to Braylon Edwards this past Sunday? I know T.O. and Vincent Jackson have a couple of big down field plays against him, but he was in perfect position in 2/3 of those plays. Once he learns how to turn around and time the football, he's picking those passes off. Very impressive. If he turns around on the Edwards TD, that's an INT.

Quck Sean Smith Answer...
Yes it was.
And that TD is iffy, because the ball started to come out when he it broke the line. Basically, im extremely happy with the guy :DXeticus, The Aqua Crush, Crappy Tipper and 1 other person like this. -

I think prior to that play, maybe even closer to the start of the game Sean Smith barely missed a pick 6. It was near the goal line, the pass might have been intended for Cotchery, not positive. Anyway, it looked like a little out route to the sidelines and Sean Smith cut the route and tipped the ball with his hands, barely missing the int.

Smith put himself at a disadvantage from the jump, as he was looking away when the ball was snapped and Edwards began his route. So he was in recovery mode from the get-go.
And Edwards doesn't score that TD without Dustin Keller diving in and pushing the pile forward. Smith and Clemons had him going backwards. Gotta believe they'd score from the goal line though.
Those two rookies will get better and better. The Aqua Crush and TheAnswer385 like this. -
I know lately I have been a pessimist for my Dolphins but I'm not the type to have a biased view because I'm a fan. Sean Smith, as of right now is easy to pick on. All the receiver has to do to expose Smith is sprint long, and do a hard inside move. I'm not one to give credit for a professional athlete to make a couple plays especially when they also give up some plays. I understand no one is perfect but come on, this isn't pee-wee football. I'm surprised that more fans are not expecting a higher standard from professional athletes. It's like as time goes on, sports has become less compettive and these "pros" need to be praised constantly to feel good, like little Timmy. Sickening.....

i think what Smith is doing is by design ... expecting S help on the inside, but can't say for sure ... he is deliberately attempting to take away the outside.
but you are correct, with a hard cut inside, there always seems to be good separation between Smith and the WR ...
both will be good, Davis seems to be making huge strides right now ... whereas, Smith made his in TC.
they both bring different things to the table, but both seem to be showing signs of great potential. -
always takes time to get it right
on the Offensive Line, Defensive Backfield & WR corp
everything takes time. we are in year two. -

Miami has a nice thing going in the secondary. All three of our rookies had some really good points out there and showed us signs that we are going to have a great secondary in years to come. Of course, they each made some mistakes out there, but they are also rookies and i expect those to become less and less the more they play. Hopefully the sieve that has been Miami's secondary for the last few years is finally plugged.

Let's hope it starts this Sunday..... -
I remember they were showing a replay of Jets driving, and I believe Sanchez threw to the flats or something like that. Basically, I know Smith was on Braylon on Catch, the reciever ran a quick stop, and Smith played it PERFECTLY. Im talking about the wide out ran by him, Smith opened up his hips, but never bit on the deep ball, and the second the reciever stopped, Smith was in front of him. Like LITERALLY, getting ready to snatch the ball if it was coming his way.

Im with DJ on this one.
Yes, we played against a rookie QB, who has been groomed to be a starter, and he has a pretty good damn receiver in Braylon.
Im not too worried about him getting "faked out" It can't be that bad, if it took him this long to give a TD on a play that he wasn't ready to go, and on the play that STILL wouldn't of been a TD if their TE doesn't push him in. AND it was a great catch. So no, I am not too worried about Smith getting juked pretty easily, considering that he is in his rookie year, and he is playing lights out right now. -
All I know is our D backfield is going to be lethal once we add a young playmaker at Safety. I hope we find that guy in this upcomming draft.
We can already stop the run, now if we have three young guys in our backfield, 2 of which are already playing at a solid level, the D in miami is going to scare every offense.
Just a couple pieces away. I for one am so glad we finally found 2 young awesome corners. That IMO was a HUGE step in the right direction.
Smith also limited Reggie Wayne, Colston, TO so far this season. Not bad for a rookie. He'll have a strong test vs Steve Smith, Moss and Andre Johnson but i'm sure he can make a play or at least lessen their impact on the upcomming games. -
The point here is, there is a lot of good so far, and many of us are excited about what Smith (and VD) can become. We expect they will start to eliminate such mistakes/holes in their games, as you mention, over time.
If this is still happening in year three or four, then that's different. But as rookies?? Playing against the QBs we've seen? Man, give them some time to adjust to the Pro game, will ya! -

Plus you are way off, people are very critical of players.
Plus being a die hard sports fan you must notice that rookies tend to not play as well as veterans.
