Look, I am the first one to spread blame and panic, but I have to hang my hat last year on the season we had after the TN game, 1-1 is better than 1-4. Is there enough blame to extend to Gase and the front office? Yes. But I am not about to request another head coach after years of ineptitude. Gase and his personnel (players and coaches) showed us last year they could fix areas of improvement. Now we have to wait and see and hope that it happens again. It was a weird day in the NFL, Denver, Pitt and Oakland lost, and there is only one more team that is undefeated.

There is no doubt that there are issues that were pretty evident, on offense, a qb just out of retirement having to get back in the swing of things and a suspect line. We know Gase's capability on offense. He needs to cater and tweak the offense until Cutler feels comfortable. Maybe look for an extra TE in to block. The fire must be lit on the unit with the greatest talent, the WR's. They are the ones that need to help ignite this offense if teams want to stop the run.

On defense, they must somehow get pressure on the QB. Where is Charles Harris? The rotation of players there need to step up. Gase must also figure out who the best corners to play. Maxwell played way off from what I saw. Defense is something that could go through some extreme measures like the Oline did last year after the TN game. Gase also must bring back Timmons. This is an obvious need and if a team lacks talent and is losing because of that, then let's move forward. Did Timmons make the trip?

It's early, but the next three games are probably the litmus test. The goal would be to go 2-1 and be 3-2 after 5. Saints, TN and Atlanta. All three teams scored 30 or more this week, and average at least 24 points a game, with the high 29. We have scored 25 in two games. What to expect? I expect to see Grant, Drake, Williams and Carroo with more reps, I expect disguised blitzes, and I expect Timmons or Anthony to play at LB. I also expect very aggressive play calling, and initiatives to start fast.

    So CAL
LOVE IT, ive never seen a team fire a head coach mid season and make a super bowl so firing gase shouldn't even be a conversation, however the play caller and maybe the dc should get a warning in their locker because some of this is a joke, I thought after the charger game we would have blitzed a lot more, the amount of pressure needed by our front 4 isn't there because suh is double teamed, we do no stunts we do not let loose lbs towards the qb and that's the problem, the zone coverage d isn't working. I hate to say it but I don't see us getting passed either of the next 3, drew is drew and hes going to shred like usual and kamara is going to be a handful. Tenn is a very solid team and better than last yr and the falcons seem to have it all to make another run again. my hopes we were going to be 2-1 or 3-0 going into the London game, now at 1-1 puts us behind in the division and possibly being 1-4 before the jets again.

its a long flight today so maybe they had some mid air conversations to get the issues worked out, or maybe they all just played cards or fell asleep who knows.

Does this mean no more threads like this? https://thephins.com/threads/boring-zzzzz-cutler-again-dominates-practice.91651/

Ah, good times... I'll direct you to post #10.

    JK, Dirty.

But no, I'm not relaxing. Cutler was a dumpster fire against the jets. Beat the Saints in London, then we can talk about easy tensions.

As for condemning the defense. Not yet. Offense needs to start performing first.
