Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp was stripped of his play-calling responsibility last week and told that he won't be used in that capacity for the rest of the season, a person in the front office said Monday. Coach Tom Cable presumably is in charge of the play-calling. However, he made no mention of the switch last week, after Sunday's game against Carolina or in his weekly news conference Monday.

Good news for Fins fans. I feel terrible for Raiders fans though. What a mess.

Read this earlier today. Not much of a difference between Knapp and Cable calling the plays. They did improve their statistics but not much difference. Third different playcaller this year in Oakland.

    Well away from here
Al Davis should call the plays this week. Why not, it is about the only thing he hasn't done to run this team into the ground.

Interesting. Al Davis is the one who told Knapp he wouldn't make the calls, not Cable.

i feel like oakland has our number recently. i dunno, but that horrible daunte 5 td game just struck a bad cord with me. i'm more concerned about this game than i was with the seahawks

Exactly. Oakland worries me. Hopefully our fans are loud, our team comes out with fire, and plays with intensity and purpose all game.

We're going to have to attack Stanford Routt. I can't see us going Asuoghma's way at all. Last week Carolina tried to go his way exactly once I believe and he intercepted it.

Yeah, pretty much what all teams are finding out.

The matchup I really like is our Oline in Run against their front seven. Could be a serious breakout for Ronnie and/or Ricky IMO

As long as they have the $50 million dollar linemen in the game (Tommy Kelly), our run game should be better because when he's on the field, they're a worse defense.

We can only hope. I've been saying this for the past 2 weeks and outside of a couple big runs, we haven't been able to open too many holes or move the ball on the ground consistently at all.

Alen, Al makes all the calls in Oakland, why should that have surprised you...Al has become the ultimate micro-manager as an owner....I like to refer to him as a "little more egotistical Jerry Jones"...In other words, the one owner that Jerry looks up to...

Lol, it doesn't surprise me. I just thought it was interesting considering it was reported Cable stripped Knapp of play-calling duties. I agree with you Larry.
