Raiders Are Bad
There is no other way to put it with the Raiders, they are just flat-out awful. The Raiders have lost five games in a row and it’s gotten worse and worse each game they have played. In the last game, the Raiders faced off against the Cincinnati Bengals and they gave up 41 points on the way to the defeat. Gardner Minshew completed 10 of his 17 passes for 124 yards. They allowed Joe Burrow to throw four or five touchdowns, and the defense is going to need to be better. The Raiders did have a bye last week so they should be well rested heading into this game.

The Raiders are averaging 18.7 points per game while their defense is giving up 27.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 25th in the league while the defense is ranked 30th. If they want any chance in this game, the defense is going to need to be better. Aidan O’Connell is still dealing with a hand injury and is on the IR.

Dolphins Can’t Slip Up
The Dolphins can’t slip up here. They have a 3-6 record and some momentum after their last win. On Monday night the Dolphins faced off against the Los Angeles Rams and they were able to secure the 23-15 victory. Tua Tagovailoa had a strong game completing 20 of his 28 passes for 207 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He continues to make bonehead decisions with his health at times and against the Rams, it was trying to make a tackle after an interception that led to him getting hit in the head. Even though they won, the running game wasn’t great and they are going to need Devon Achane to be better here.

The Dolphins are averaging 16.3 points while their defense is giving up 22.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 30th in the league while the defense is ranked 17th. In this game, the Dolphins offense will need to get out to a fast start.

Why the Dolphins Will Beat the Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders vs Miami Dolphins Prediction
The Dolphins are going to put on a show here. The Raiders defense just allowed Burrow to throw for five touchdowns and it’s going to be much of the same here. The Dolphins are going to get a huge game from Tua Tagovailoa and that is going to be the difference here. The Raiders aren’t going to be keeping up here with their terrible offense and the Dolphins are going to end up cruising to the victory. Back the Dolphins against the spread here.

 

Every game is must win game. They need to win by 1 point. I would love for them to win by 3 TDs but even if they squeak out a win it doesn't make them a lesser team.

 

Here's why. You all have some preconceived notion of how this or that game should go. Did it matter that we played "up" to the Bills and then lost even though we played better? Not a damn bit. it's still a W. If they played every playoff team competitively and lost on a FG at the end of every game where does you narrative fit? Does that mean they're playoff team good? All that matters is a W.

Vegas only has the Fins by 1 TD but somehow its a disappointment that if it's not 3 TD's.

 

Tyreek Hill was one of six Miami Dolphins players absent from practice Wednesday. Hill, 30, is dealing with a wrist injury that was suffered in August, but re-aggravated last week. While he missed two practices ahead of a Week 10 game against the Los Angeles Rams, the receiver played in the contest and finished with three receptions for 16 yards and a touchdown.

Also absent Wednesday was cornerback Kendall Fuller, who has already been ruled out for Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders, due to his second concussion of the season.

Wynn and McMorris are both on injured reserve, but had their practice windows to return opened. They would each have to be moved to the active roster to be available to play Sunday.

 

Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was on the field for practice on Thursday and he doesn’t plan to let the wrist injury that’s been bothering him this season force him off of it.

Hill appeared on the injury report because of the injury when he missed practice time last week, but later said that the wrist has been bothering him since the summer. On Thursday, Hill told reporters that he’s “locked in” to playing through the injury even though there’s been some thought given to having a surgical procedure.

“Surgery was brought up and it was talked about whenever I talked to a few of the doctors,” Hill said, via Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. “It’s my call at the end of the day and my call is to stay on the field.”

The fact that an operation is on the table now suggests that it will remain an option whenever Hill is done playing this season, so Hill may be going under the knife at one point or another.

 

7.5 point favorite makes me think that Vegas has a different opinion. Only Jacksonville has a worse spread 14 points. Houston is the same as us. All other spreads are in the 3-5 range. This doesn't remotely support a 3 TD win - even the Jags at Detroit doesn't.

 

Mike McDaniel has said amid the Dolphins' struggles this season that adversity would reveal the character of the team. Miami's coach was impressed with his team's character during a recent three-game losing streak, and he credited it with the Dolphins' win Monday night over the Los Angeles Rams.

“That’s why I was proud of the effort," he said, “and I’ve been proud of the week-by-week commitment to getting better as a football team even when the results weren’t necessarily showing up in the win column.”

Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins (3-6) have a big opportunity the next two weeks, with consecutive home games against losing teams, starting Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders (2-7).

The Raiders have lost five straight games. Three were by more than 15 points, including last week's loss to Cincinnati. Their offense is averaging 280.2 yards per game, fourth worst in the league.

“I think it’s going to show the character of the people in this building,” Raiders cornerback Nate Hobbs said. “I think everybody in this building and everybody in this locker room is strong enough to forget about the past and focus on the now and the next eight games.”

Gardner Minshew received a vote of confidence this week when coach Antonio Pierce said he would remain the starting quarterback.
Minshew has completed 67% of his passes but has thrown for just six touchdowns. He has eight interceptions and four fumbles. He was replaced by Aidan O’Connell after five games and nearly lost the job to Desmond Ridder.
“It could be tough, man, no doubt about it,” Minshew said. “But I’ve been there before, been through it, and excited for the opportunity ahead. That’s really all we have. We got these days to prepare, and we got a game coming up. We’re focused on that and letting it rip.”

He'll be facing a defense that's coming off one of its strongest performances of the season.

Miami's 10th-ranked defense did not give up a touchdown against the Rams and has forced three turnovers in the past two games. The Dolphins have held their opponents to 32% on third-down conversions, the third-best mark in the league this year.

“This league is about enduring and getting better,” Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver said. “I talked to the guys about having faith in the middle of the season. It's so long, and it's so grueling that it exposes the fraught. And if you're not willing to push yourself and constantly get better throughout, then you'll have a failing season.”

Mayer returns
Tight end Michael Mayer, back after missing the past six games for personal reasons, said he was grateful to the Raiders organization.

“They’ve been with me through the whole thing, so I really appreciate that,” Mayer said. “I couldn’t ask for a better organization, a better support system. It was a personal matter. Me and my family handled it behind closed doors.”

Mayer said he was thrilled to return to practice Wednesday. He and Brock Bowers give the Raiders one of the NFL’s top tight end combinations. Mayer, drafted in the second round last year out of Notre Dame, started the first two games this season and played in three. He caught four passes for 21 yards. Las Vegas drafted Bowers 13th this year out of Georgia. He has 57 catches for 580 yards and two touchdowns.

Campbell's impact
In describing the impact defensive tackle Calais Campbell has had, McDaniel called the veteran the “Tom Brady of defensive linemen.” Campbell has a team-high three sacks and is tied for third-most solo tackles at 25. The 38-year-old had a sack, three tackles and two pass breakups on Monday night.

“He’s got some fountain of youth going,” McDaniel said. “He’s playing as good of ball — He’s playing young 30(-year-old) Calais ball, which is a testament to how he prepares. And a huge part of our team.”

 

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel opened up his Friday press conference by fielding a question about cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey popped up on the injury report on Thursday as a limited participant in practice due to a knee injury. McDaniel was asked about the circumstances of the injury and his outlook for Sunday’s game against the Raiders.

“Something that came up during practice,” McDaniel said. “We’ll see how it plays out today. Either way, I don’t rule out warriors like he is. An internal part of our team. I know that he’ll do what he is able to do today. We’ll be optimistic for the game knowing that if he doesn’t play it’s because he can’t.”

Ramsey has not missed a game this season and has 35 tackles, an interception, and four passes defensed.
