Dude.. that's ignoring history. We've been a mediocre team too long with Grier prior to McD's recent success. Grier isn't getting fired even if we finish bottom of the league. And if he's not getting fired you do the best with what you have: win.

Yes...losing to win is always the logical way of doing things. And if the Dolphins do win a playoff game this year, and Grier isn't fired, the Dolphins SUCK! lmaooooo

It's not ignoring history. Of course Grier should have been fired a while ago. That doesn't mean added pressure on Ross with more losing doesn't finally break the dam.

That's like hoping to win the lottery. Too low probability. Anyway, I'm going to keep rooting for this team to win as long as we have a mathematical chance to succeed.

Massive exaggeration. It's really not that improbable, and if they fall well out of contention that pressure to make FO changes will only increase from fans, investors, and the media.

Root away. Good luck with that.

There's no guarantees. Do I need to explain why drafting higher puts you in a better positon? Or list the many teams in history that it did work out for?

Yeah you're reading that wrong. Regardless, it's relatively rare for tanking to work in football. Basketball has many examples, but they have fewer players on the team. Baseball we saw a great example with the Astros, but otherwise it also tends not to work. You're basically suggesting we abandon a position from which a few good moves, or just luck, might push us over the top to gambling everything away. The cost/benefit analysis is not in favor of tanking in our case. I think it would be if we were more talent bereft, but not with this offense.

If there is ever a season to "miss" on a tip 5 pick it would be this year. This is going to be a weak draft class. Now to address the absolute ignorance of your comment and line of thinking.

Rooting for your team to not win is never acceptable. Either cheer them or go cheer on someone else. With they way the league is now days the chances of remaining in mediocre spin cycle is very small. It's not the 80s and 90s where that could happen. The injury bug has to go visit some other team at some point, it's just the laws of average. This team has been bitten by that snake so many times I understand your negative view point of the team.

Astros? What are you talking about? The draft is largely irrelevant in baseball.

Agree to disagree. There's no greater benefit than removing Grier from the helm.

Astros got key players by tanking to get high draft picks, including Carlos Correa and Alex Bregman. Draft picks were also used for key trades like with Verlander. High draft picks were absolutely essential to their World Series run.

And I'm not wrong about the very low chance of success with tanking in the NFL. Detroit, Cleveland did it for years with no success (Detroit's current success is due to getting the right HC, not tanking). And remember Indy with Luck? Yeah. When has tanking really worked in the NFL? It's rare. You can't ignore that no matter what you think of Grier.

Saying I only root for them if they win a Super Bowl is implying exactly that. You can now result back into name calling and ridiculing people, like you always do.

I totally agree you don’t see the good franchises (Ravens, Steelers, 49ers, etc) tank. Hopefully McD is the real deal, team looks solid with Tua back at the helm. I just don’t think it’s enough, if they make the playoffs I would be all in, if not, it depends on how the rest of the season goes. Still think we’re going nowhere with Grier though…

Just do not let this poster anger you...

He is itching for you to make an angry post.

He sends private messages to the Mods trying to get people removed... Saying that he and his friends will leave if the members he does not like and or agree with are not banned. "Because of them, we do not want to post here anymore."

So no matter what you do.... never attack the guy....
Now that you know the games he plays on here.... You know not to fall for his crap.

I think our best chance is getting the right DC. Our talent level is not bad. I agree Grier misses a lot, but overall he's an average GM not terrible as some make it out to be. I wish he were better, but if you get a good DC we have a chance. That, and luck. Never ignore "luck" as something that can push a team over the top in any given year.

Let‘s wait and see how the season turns out. I think Wheeler is doing a pretty good job for what he has, the O needs to carry this team as they did today.
