I read the studio wants Sly to make another Rocky and Rambo because of the success the two movies had last year. Its all about the money and they are going to ride those two franchises until they stop making it.
Rambo IV was a very good movie that I thought brought the series back from being a cartoon. I liked that one as the finale.
Movie Studios cream themselves for any movie that makes profit. Could be 1 or 2 mill and they're stoked. Kevin Smith has a great bit about Movie Studios and Production Companies in his 'An Evening With Kevin Smith' Docu.
Thats why Tyler Perry is knocking out 3 flicks a year. I dont have a problem with another Rambo. The last one was such a pleasant surprise, I say why not. Its a little bit different than the Rocky franchise. After Rocky Balboa, it'd be a crime against humanity if he didn't let things be with that triumph. It was a beautiful movie, and no good could possibly come from another one. Let the legacy rest.
While Rambo IV wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, it was still bad. Do really really need to see another 40 minutes of Stallone screaming while manning a gattling gun(somehow not even getting scratched even though he's outnumbered)?
I agree with that. I dont see how they could of made Rocky any better. Rambo was ok, but I dont know if they'll only be making it worse by continuing it.
