What you talkin bout Willis? Dude actually looks exactly like Webster too. - Adam Caplan This'd make a lot of sense.
Ray Willis is a Leo, born in the Year of the Dog in Chinese Zodiac. He likes PS2, Sci Fi movies, pecan pie, has twin children, and is known as powerful run blocker, able to play RT or RG with equal enthusiasm.
Was he out of football in 2010? He played 16 games for Seattle in 2009, but didn't see anything about him for 2010.
To bad about CBake, he was fun to follow on Twitter, but was rehabbing a knee, but that is two waivers and we added Fields to backup at NT, now we have 1 new roster slot...for an Olineman.
I watched him over a four game stretch and didn't like him. Thought he wasn't quick enough and struggled with technique but this was a couple years ago so who knows now.
Should, thusly OHara and Willis had their tires kicked, would think there is a third Olineman that we do not know about also. Expect a mystery number in Camp.
You see him at guard or tackle Alen? I don't think we want him pass blocking on an island at RT, but covered up at RG maybe ok and he should be able to move folks in the run game. Rather have O'Hara myself.
When I watched him, he played both due to injuries. Thought he was better at G personally but as you say, I'd rather have O'Hara even if he has to position switch.
For RG I'd probably prefer willis tbh about it, a center can get by via being crafty and savvy, a RG has to handle the wide bodies in the 4-3.
Right now, one problem is we have our best RG playing LG. Being able to move Richie to RG would help him and help us.
Nate Garner maybe solves the riddle? Do agree, Richie is a RG, but our resident oline expert, Sparano, seems to have missed on JJ, so the situation is once again muddied.
Maybe so. Tony was saying how he and Murtha not allowed to practice yet, something to do with CBA, and they being RFA I guess. We get Garner in there, hopefully try him at LG and move Richie over, since JJ seems to be disappointing so far and Feinga is 1st string RG for the time being.
I don't get what Caplan means about Willis wanting to be closer to his Fla home. Yes he went to FSU, but he was born and raised in Texas. Played high school ball in Texas. I'd guess his family are mostly still in Texas. He may be glad for a chance to come to Miami, but I'm guessing being close to home won't be part of the reason.
^^ Well, he is no kid anymore, but has actually been better since he passed 30 yrs old. So if his feet pass the test, IMO, he'll be a good addition. Centers often play til mid 30s. Look at Kevin Mawae. Falcons had a starting C when I was a kid named Jeff Van Note who played well till 38-39. Casey Wiegmann is still going pretty well at 36 or so. edit: Van Note played his last season at 40 and was 2nd team All Pro at 36.
