Thanks, but I saw that article about what Porter said and I thought they really took the comment "needs" out of context and blew it out of proportion. He didn't mean it in the way the title insinuated. He was just being nice. ;)

I think its easy to see why we arent in the Cutler sweetpstakes, Denver wants two first round picks! Not to mention we have Pennington and Henne... Someone really needed to write an article as to why we arent chasing him?

We're not in the Cutler sweepstakes because of Chad Henne. It's as simple as that.

Brandon, I think you gave the number one reason to say no thank you without hesitating. Those 2 #1 draft picks.
And yes they better have confidence in Henne or they shouldn't have drafted him. All indications were that had Pennington not fallen into our laps, Henne would hav been our starter.

Individually the Porter story is not that significant, but it all adds up. The more and more I hear about how welcome JT would be in the lockerroom, the more and more i feel like it is really a legitimate possibility.

Ive been hoping this would happen all along, but I wont lose sleep if we dont sign him.

I think the last time we traded two (2) 1st round draft choices and more for a player taught us something. The initial benifit was great but the final results were devastating to the franchise and really took until last year to recover from. We should be happy with Pennington and Henne and let those 1st round picks help to rebuild this franchise.

    Eh. No.

    Cutler - Can Plan.
    Henne - who knows.

It's not as simple as that. If it was as simple as that, that would mean if Cutler showed up on our door as an FA we would slam the door on him

Lombardi is apparently saying we only wind up with JT if he signs for the Vet Minimum.

As for Cutler, 2 1's, a new contract, and he has to learn the offense stand out as the large reasons why we aren't in the bidding.

    And of course Chad Henne.

As stated earlier in the thread, giving up (2) first round picks for an emotionally unstable individual is not a smart move. Exhibit 1a) Ricky Williams took us down a road this franchise had not been on since 1966.

We're not in it because we don't have the need

Plain and simple. For the first time since Dan Marino retired we can finally say that we don't have a need at QB, unless we are talking the #3 slot. (BTW, if we can use Vick in other ways, WRs, kick/punt returns, new ripple to wildcat, it would be an interesting move to consider, as he would also be the #3 QB.)

We have many more pressing needs right now, as we have all be discussing. Henne is our future so there is no need to spend a dime on Cutler or any other QB.

Interesting note about Henne being taken on the road to work out wide receivers (Nicks).

The reason why we have no interest in cutler?.....because of the 3 57 thats a attached to our own true dolphin future qb... I think with all that we know about henne and what we have heard from everyone, this topic is tired.
