So with the events of the last few weeks the whole AFC is open. I am sick of listening to local NY sports people saying that the Jets will most likely win more games than the Dolphins will. I guess that's a disadvantage of being outnumbered by the locals. My question is: Please try and put our deep hatred for the Jets to the side, Who do you feel / predict will win out more games by seasons end us or the Jets? Jets Schedule: @ Tampa vs. Falcons @ Colts vs. Bengals Phins Schedule: @ Jaguars @ Titans vs. Texans vs. Steelers I feel our games are very doable as a few of the teams have not done as well as in past years. I also realize that this is crunch time and most teams are fighting for a playoff birth. I don't think the Jets can beat the falcons, Bengals or colts. So what do you all think. BTW, I thought of putting this under afc rivals but since we are included I placed it here.
Tough to say. I'd say our schedule is more even in terms of the quality of each remaining team whereas they have a larger split -- two lesser teams in TB and Atl and two greater teams in Indy and Cincy. So, I think ours will be tougher week to week, but they will have individual weeks that will be tougher and some easier. I could easily see us going 4-0, 3-1, or 2-2 at worst over the final weeks. I could see them going 3-1 at best, but more likely 2-2.
If we do not win out the division, I at least want to get more wins than they do. Call it consolation or just fuel for the rivalry. It would also be nice to say, "Well at least we won more games than you did!!!" I know childish in nature but it would feel good
If we don't win out we don't make the playoffs regardless of what the jets do, but having said that, I see the jets going 2-2 down that stretch at best, MAYBE 3-1 if they get lucky and the Colts and Bengals are resting guys already.
I'm not worried about the jets. Looks like one AFC West team will grab a Wildcard. Then, its gonna be one of the following teams: 1. Miami 2. Steelers 3. Ravens 4. Jacksonville Screw the jets. They are irrelevant this December.
the jets are lucky in that the tough teams they play may end up resting their starters when they meet. bottom line is we need to run the table. tall order but doable. whether its likely is another question
Not Jets fans and not when it comes to us. It goes both ways. Especially living in the NYC Metro area, they really dislike us.
Dude, say one word to them: SWEEP. If they try to say anything, respond with SWEEP. If they tell you we got lucky or that Ted Ginn is a bust or that Sanchez rules, respond with SWEEP.
I am really hoping that Polomaluo misses more time. THat Pittsburgh team is a different team without him. I'm with GH, i'm not worried at all with the Jests. I think i'm more worried about the Jax game and now the steelers game (since they won't be secured a playoff spot when we play them now.)
All I have to say is, "Sweep" What was that . "Sweep" come again, "Sweep" HAHAHAHA Thats funny as hell. What? "Sweep"
Depends which Falcon team is out there. No Ryan and Turner...Jets win. With Ryan and Turner...50/50. I think the jets go 2-2. I think we should beat Jax, Houston, and Pitt...but @ Tenn is a toss up right now. We can't afford any losses, but we need to win out and good things will happen (based on who we play) if we do so.
additionally, we really need the Ravens to lose a couple - they are tied or ahead in every tiebreaker I believe...
Too many doubts for these last 4. A. Not sure that we can effectively contain Garrard, Jones-Drew (and the other Hyphens), and Wilford for sure is going to be out for blood. B. Containing VY is going to be a tall task, and CJ is just a monster. Their defense seems to be getting their stuff together. C. We've NEVER beaten the Texans...period. Slaton is a force. Andre Johnson is a beast (see also: last year). D. Bringing down, let alone containing Big Ben is going to be tough, and they've got some elite talent at WR. Mendenhall has been a legitimate down-hill threat all year.
We have to root for the Packers to beat the Ravens tonight. This Sunday's game in Jacksonville is HUGE. Playoff spot could be on the line.
I actually cannot believe the Colts would, again, entertain the idea of tanking games. How many times this decade have we seen these dynamite Colt teams start off 10-0, 12-0, or whatever and then start resting their players, hang out for a couple of weeks, and then in the games that matter the most they come out flat and get smoked by a team coming in with a ton of momentum. You'd think they learn and actually go for the 16-0 this time The Jets schedule is only easier if they're relying on getting everyone's "B" team. Tampa Bay is a B team already, Colts playing backups, Falcons without Ryan, and Bengals possibly playing backups depending on what SD does. If they get everyone's A team, their schedule is much tougher imo. Kind of annoying for us though, since we got the Colts when they're the hardest to beat(in September) and the Falcons were a much better team back then too. I'm honestly skeptical about Ryan coming back at all this year, turf toe is no joke and their season is done. Thinking they play it safe with him
Its impossible to predict these games. Nobody thought we would beat the Pats or the Raiders would beat the Steelers. That being said here are my predictions. The Bucs are not a good team although they are a lot better with Josh Freeman and Antonio Bryant starting. Still the Jets should beat them. If Matt Ryan and Michael Turner are healthy the Falcons should beat the Jets. The Bengals are for real this year. They should win. If the Colts are already resting their players by Week 16 then the Jets might win that one. So many variables! Best guess: The Jets go 2-2 to finish the season 8-8. The Dolphins are more than capable of beating the Jags and the Titans. We are stout against the run and that's the strength of both of those teams. For some reason we struggle against the Texans but we have a very good chance of finally beating them since we play at home and Owen Daniels is injured. The Steelers just lost to the Raiders so they're not exactly bulletproof. Best guess: The Dolphins go 4-0 to finish the season 10-6. However none of those games are against "easy" opponents.
