They all seem tough to me due to our inept team.

Do you think the Pats will win another game after their performance today?
There is no doubt we were thoroughly beaten today. This is the first game of the season I can say that about. The Ravens have our number. They are a very good team.
Saying that, I think we can win every game we have left.2xBlown likes this. -
i would be surprised if we win less than six games from that schedule. i think this will be a repeat of 2008 where we started slow the first half and went on a tear the 2nd
-
lets face it guys. first half of our season we lost 4 games. all to team that made playoffs last year with exception of the steelers but look at the steelers this year. they are really good and playing good and we coulda beat them no prob as well as the jets. my original thoughts were as long as we get out of the first 8 game 5-3 were good, at least we dont have a losing record.
although we lost to good team there is no excuses and we coulda won a couple! if we wanna be serious those are game we need to win!! my point, were there we just need to get over the hump and show up EVERY sunday! -
Wow, we're inept now? I wasn't aware we turned into the Cowboys or the Bills all of a sudden. Seriously, We're 4-4.
Yeah, today sucked, but come on. On the road against the best Home team in the league right now after they were coming off their bye?
Deep breaths, its a tough loss, but we will win some more games this season. -

Toss the Chargers into the mix as well, we are bringing up the rear of the horse race in maybe 9th place.DolfanJake likes this. -
Our goal shouldn't be to just be in the playoffs, our goal should be to WIN in the playoffs. Isn't that what Herm Edwards said ?
YouTube - Herm Edwards- Greatest Coach Ever!
Have we seen improvement since the begininng of the season ? We're halfway through. This is a young team for sure, but did that defense look like its getting better or worse since the begininng of the season ? That is something Steven Ross needs to start asking himself. Is this coaching staff satisfied with being "this team" or improving ? Because frankly I haven't seen improvement, but regression. The 1st two games we saw an enthusiastic young defense "get after it", and yesterday we saw a team that looked inept, unconfident, and unprepared. Troubling signs if you ask me. -
though the remaining schedule is tough, its light years easier than the first half of the schedule...
would you rather play the steelers at home or the Titans? in Oakland or in Green Bay?
we have to get our offensive philosophy in order, aka take the playcalling duties away from Henning and we'll have a shot... -
-
The Raiders and Cleveland are no locks.
Tennessee is very tough.
If we lose to Tenn, it's bag packing time. -
@Buffalo, @Minnesota, Jets, NE, @GB, Pitt, @Cincy, @Balt
but will go 3-5 against
Ten, Chi, @Oak, Cle, @Jets, Buf, Det, @NE
i think our home luck is overblown... we played 3 of the best teams in the league and lost there, apparently we are not a top 5 team, but that doesn't mean we cant beat a Tennessee at home, Chicago, Cleveland, etc...
I think everyone can agree the first half of our schedule was tougher than our second half... so i dont think its impossible to get to 9-7 or 10-6, and 10-6 can grab the last wildcard spot -

Clearly, the far tougher half of our schedule is behind us, and we came out 4-4 (really, 5-3, but who's counting ).
Anyhow, of the remaining eight, I feel really good about five (Bears, Raiders, Browns, Bills, Lions), and halfway good about another (Titans). Obviously, @Jets and @Pats are going to be tough, but for the moment, let's move them over here to another bucket and focus on the other six.
We're a flawed team, but a pretty decent flawed team. We may only be good enough to hang w/ the really good teams (but fall short) right now, but I think we have what it takes to get over the B, C and D teams in this league - in which six of our eight (other than the Jets/Pats) remaining opponents reside.
Clearly, the Titans are the best of the rest of those, but I think we'll handle them at home. Our coaching staff does some of it's best work after we get embarrassed, and I think Sunday will be a big win. Then, we'll handle the pretending Bears before a trip to play gutsy Oakland. Still, the Raiders are better, but they're AFC West good, which has its limits.
The Browns? Can't take them lightly, but it's in our building, and I think we'll make Colt McCoy beat us, and I don't see that happening. Lions are scrappy, but we saw why they are the Lions yesterday. And the Bills?? Really!
Point being, I think we'll take at least six of the last eight and go 10-6, clearly missing the playoffs due to multiple tiebreakers. While I'd be disappointed, I can live with it at this point, and I'd be looking forward to next year. Now, if we can handle those six AND take one against the Pats or Jets, we may be able to sneak into the post-season. But that's a BIG if at this point.
Look, our team is flawed, but the way we are built, and our game plan is good enough to beat those six teams, just the way it was built to beat the Vikes, Pack and Cincy - not to mention Buffalo. It also won in Pittsburgh .... till the league deemed otherwise :wink2:
We need to step it up to beat the good teams, and maybe that happens in the offseason, or maybe it happens this year. Time will tell. And - yeah - a lot of it depends on Henne's development ....arsenal likes this. -

-We hung w/ the Jets
-We DID beat Pittsburgh
-We played the Pats very well in 2/3 aspects of the game, losing because of historic malfunction in the other third.
-As bad as yesterday was, we were a better Henne pass to Fasano and a Sean Smith "holding-on-of-the-ball" away from being up 21-20 late in the game yesterday. Not excuse, just saying that's how close we were to calling this a good effort.
-We're 4-4 (5-3 :angry::angry:) after the far tougher half of our schedule. If we can't beat that performance in the last eight, it's time to move on from what's left of Tuna, Inc. However, if they get us to 5-3/6-2 over the remaining eight, I'm more than happy to have them stick around and see this thing through. -
Wanny won 10 games a few times too. If you're not making the playoffs or competing with/beating the top teams there is no real difference between 7-9 or 10-6DolfanJake likes this. -

We are gonna finish 9-7. We will win every game we are supposed to win. We wont win one game where its a toss up. Its sad...but right now...I just dont see that this staff, team can win against the better teams. I dont see us beating the Jets, NE, and Tenn. And after we lose this week against Tenn. the wheels are going to come off..and the downward spiral begins.
I can honestly say I see us having a better shot at going 4-12, then 11-5 or 10-6. 0 confidence in anything aqua and orange right now.
And those games we lose.....we will probably lose all of them by a combined 5-8 plays. We are always gonna be this close. -
-
Not saying I'd be super happy or anything like that, this is just the bare minimum for me to still be on board w/ this regime. -
-
Look, there are some very real differences of opinion here .... let's see it play out to see who has the better instincts on this one.

Might as well cue up Jim Mora:

Except his team was 4-6, and his QB was some INT tossing machine named Manning. Freaking bum, he's never been on the cover of Madden either...:wink2:
