Thought with all this talk, I thought we should look back to why Beck was drafted....I think he should get another chance. link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MflFK7Q0o9E
watch how he pass's sometimes, he really can just flick the ball with his wrist. I think he will come through given the chance.
Thank you! I dont want us to draft a QB lol theres a reason we took him last year early. We can't keep changing our signal callers every year. I think Beck can be a good player in this league but for him to be one, you have to give him a chance. Eli took what four years to get up to his potential in this league? Peyton didn't have the greatest rookie year. Give Beck a chance already.
nice post, thanks for the vid. Beck does have the potential. Hopefully we can give him some protection this year, and he can settle in and get more comfortable and show us that he can make plays, and that he can win games, and that he can be the QB of the future for this team.
I feel that John Beck is going to be a very special player for us over the next 10-12 years.. Lets look at what he brings to the table. Has great Football smarts, tough, accurate, good touch on his passes, a strong arm, hard worker (first one there and the last one to leave),knows how to move in the pocket, all the attributes to be a great leader, and most of all a class A+ person. So what does he lack to become a great QB in the NFL? Time to develop and some talent around him. I know one thing if John Beck fails it will not be because of a lack of desire, smarts, or work ethic. Go get them Johnny!
Great post but I disagree with one point. While I also feel he will be special for us I believe 10 - 12 years is a bit to long. Given his age I feel 7 - 8 really super years then we will start to see a decline. Except for the rare player, players just don't perform as well into their late 30's. I am not saying it is not possible, with his work ethic I believe he can be one of the rare ones, but I am not going to count on it just yet.
Nice video! I think that Beck well be a really good QB if we can surround him with a decent cast of characters. All of that potential is still there it just needs to be released.
The biggest thing is we have to give him a chance, I am looking forward to seeing him play. (Didn't see a game last season, I was in Iraq) No comments from the na sayers?
Yeah, but he's aged 10 years, lost all his skills, and is practically a midget now. At least that's what I've been reading on all the boards.
Nice vid, thanks I enjoyed that. I still believe Beck can be a solid starter for us. (Except of course my son Josh will probably beat him out in a fair fight. )
this video almost gets me as excited as every time i watch this video of my son http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGyrgqOKZLg
You may be right but Roger lasted 11 years although he really only played for 9 as the starter because TL didn't trust him, according to Roger, and shuffled him and the other QB for the first two years. John will be 27 this year and if we can keep him until say 36/38 that would be great but I'll be happy for whatever as long as he lives up to my expections.
J Beck was not even given a fair chance last season. The guy was running for his life 90% of the time the ball was snapped. Factor in that he was a rookie and it is a wonder that he didn't get seriously hurt in some of those games he started.. Marino1983
Part of our problem is, we are still spoiled on Marino who stepped right in and won. Now look at reallity, most QB's take a few years to develoup, now grented, some never do. I just look at Romo in Dallas, they were about to give up on the guy, and look how he stepped up. Its way to soon to bail on Beck. So heres to Beck in 2008!!!!!!!!
I hope so, I don't mind the debate! oh wait, did they stay at the other website......in that case SSHShhhhhhh.....got ya
Great post prior to this one. And NOBODY better hate on my son or I'll get his Momma to whoop up on 'em.
Thanks!! I have been in my fire dept. for 25 years and I just wanted a way to not let others forget the sacrafice of the ones who died in the line of duty and FDNY on 9/11.
This sentiment is comforting to see. Thought I'd have to hunker down here as a solitary "give Beck a REAL chance" voice of reason , in the face of a frenzied deluge of emotional "Beck Sucks"/Ryan the "franchise" QB slurpy man-love.
