Walterfootball has had him mocked to the Browns for quite awhile now. Hearing comparisons to Revis, though havent looked up each of their measureables.

Still, the Browns need a QB badly. If SL passes on one, the Browns have got to make an effort to get either Clausen or Bradford.

 

If the Brownies pass on Eric Berry or Derrick Morgan they should have their heads examined.

For better or worse, Brady Quinn has to be their Qb in 2010 they have too much invested in him to not play him.

 

Taking any of the QB's in this draft would be a huge mistake. The only one with any shot at success is Bradford and his injury scares me off.

 

It would be nice to see them switch to the 4-3 and draft Derrick Morgan.

 

The passrushing prospects this year are mostly college DE's, if you draft them they have to be taught how to play OLB.

Really? Hmm. Haden's not as aggressive downhill as Vontae IMO. That's Haden's weakness; attacking downhill IMO.

He's alright in run support IMO. He isn't always a solid tackler. I just got done watching Trent Richardson throw him around in that UF - Bama game.

 

More or less, but in the context of this thread, it makes a difference, and the Browns have Kameron Wimbley who I don't believe they have given up on as of yet.

But Eric Berry would/should be their pick if they don't go DE, heck they had Mike Furrey playing Safety late last season and they like Eric Wright at Cb.

 

Thats one of the most inaccurate things I have ever seen you post. Guy is a very good tackler for a CB and will definetly help in run support. Eveyone misses tackles occasionally tho

 

I think if you look at "developmental" positions, it seems to be shifting somewhat away from QB, WR toward 3-4 OLB. A player can have immediate 4-3 success (like Cushing), but finding an immediate 3-4 guy who can play OLB well and make more than a situational impact is rare. Clay Matthews is the only guy I can think of to have that success, though Im not sure if Orakpo played more in the 4-3 as as DE/OLB or as a true 3-4 OLB. Pretty sure Washington ran the 4-3 though.

Its what makes me think guys like Grahm and Hughes will be drafted lower than some people think.

 

They've got relatively little invested in him. His contract is heavily incentive-laden. What they do have is a large bonus owed to Derek Anderson around March 19 or so, IIRC. Anderson will never see that money.

I think they'll take a QB at some point and have him compete with Quinn for the job. Wouldn't be surprised to see Jimmy Clausen head to Cleveland, even though I think he's wildly, horrendously overrated. 3rd round talent, 1st round grade. But that's fine with me, it pushes Dez Bryant down another slot.

 

I don't see where I posted anything wrong? I said he isn't always a solid tackler and you just said he occasionally misses tackles? He'll stick his head in run support but isn't always effective.

I still think quarterback and wide receiver are up there. You'll always have to develop those two positions, regardless of where you take them in the Draft. The outside linebacker position has always been the same IMO. You're basically going to be teaching them the same thing pretty often. Rip, counter rip, speed rush, inside spin (at least two of the moves listed) and use your hands. The players aren't in coverage a lot from what I've seen so that's kind an aspect of games where you can take a guy who may not be as athletic as another and even when they are, it's usually a short zone or they are simply spot dropping. It's mostly going downhill while starting from a two point stance. There's difference there, such as easier to read the play, but I don't think it's a huge transition. JMO though.

Washington ran the 4-3 I believe.

The Browns definitely need a qb but I'd still be surprised if they took one in the first round. I think they'll decide between Haden, Berry, and Bryant

 

I think its way too early for the Browns to think about giving up on Quinn, they need to bring in a decent veteran to push him, not start all over again with a rook.
