this means we're down to 52 right? i'm sure we'll pick up a TE. time to look at the available TE's and make a wish list
I disagree. While Haynos and Nalbone aren't exactly pro bowl material yet, Fasano is one heckuva player. The roster is at 52 now... let the waiver/trade speculation begin.
I knew something was cooking wit DMart, but I thought he was going to be traded to KC. Well, Fasano becomes the primary Receiving threat.
Well it's not Fasano that is the problem. It's a question of production in two TE sets. I like Haynos because of his size but he hasn't shown anything yet, and Nalbone is a rookie who I expect nothing of.
We claimed Davon Drew from Baltimore. Former college QB, spent his last two years at East Carolina at TE. Very athletic, considered a candidate for H-back. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=5372
Looks like the kid caught quite a few passes last year and stretched the field...16 + YPA... http://nfldraft.rivals.com/cviewplayer.asp?Player=56731
come on guys not every player that used to be a QB and plays a different position now has to be a wildcat guy
We don't have a lot of weaknesses now. We can probably pick the best guy off the waiver wire. Some young prospect another team thought to hide on the waiver wire. Like Terrance Taylor for example...
Man I got to be honest for the last 3 weeks I have pimped a trade with David Martin and Greg C or B London going to the Chiefs, even to the point that last week's Sick and E show I said Martin was being showcased for another team. Sports hernia surgery and a knee with fluid on it destroyed his trade value and he wouldn't fit on IR and his contract was up at the end of the year, a trade would have made sense for us, but it just did not happen. The one thing to keep in mind about Sparano is he loves being a teacher, the development of players aspect is something he loves about being a Head Coach, so we have Nalbone and Haynos, they could be our starting Te's next season...if Davon Drew does not develop...in some ways Sparano is more like a college Head Coach..
A trade is not the same as an injury settlement. No, a trade probably wouldn't have surprised me, but being released because of injury and not being able to resign him at all this season is something no one called.
Have to agree. Even just saying you knew Martin wouldn't be with the team would be inaccurate given the circumstances. He would be here now if he hadn't been hurt. Not to say he couldnt have been moved later, but we can only assume he would be here.
