Well, Cam Cameron is being made the scapegoat for Dave Wannstedt's failure as a GM. The biggest reason he is being fired though is because he didn't previously coach or know Bill Parcells.

As a result, Miami will hire a candidate whose only reason for getting the job will be because he coached with Bill Parcells.

This is exactly why I have been skeptical of the Bill Parcells hire. It's nothing but an act of cronyism.

Good luck to those of you are going to start pumping Tony Sparano up as the greatest head coaching candidate of all time. I'll be hear laughing at you when you do the same thing to him that you are doing to Cam Cameron next year.

Yea nobody was sold on him as a OC last year and he turned out to be a great OC. The guy has coaching in his blood and we are not the only one who want him. The Falcons and Ravens are already ahead of us.

    In the draft war room
Many of us were happy as hell when we got Jimmy Johnson and it didn't work out. Then we got Dave Wannstedt and it didn't work. Then we thought Saban was the savior and he proved to be nothing more then an overrated quitter who couldn't handle the NFL. We then changed course and brought in an Offensive Coordinator (Cameron) and a big name GM in Randy Mueller who we thought would bring us out of the mess we were mired in. Now we have Parcells and Jeff Ireland and probably a new head coach and a whole new direction. I am not going to get my hopes up anymore. We have had our hearts broken since Jimmy was here. I will hope for the best but will be cautiously optimistic this time.

Everything needs to change, a complete housecleaning and what has Cameron shown you throughout the season to make you think he will be a good coach. The guy is disliked by players including JP who just got a huge contract from Cam. Showed no emotion during the season, this team needs someone who will be able to light a fure underneath them.

    Good riddance Cam.

If we go 6-9 next year, I won't be calling for anybody's head.
I will be more concerned with why we only played 15 games.

Oh I suspect we will have a return to the verbal combat that characterized the Saban and the Press era...

I do think Cam is not a 1-15 coach KB, but the record says 1-15, whatchagonna do?

And BTW, for a Franchise that prided itself on stability, this coaching carousel is starting to get very old, a real "What the hell is going on out there " Lombardi moment...again...

6-9? If this team manages to get 6 wins next season I will be very happy, this team was on the brink of going winless it takes a special kind of coach to approach that and not special in a good way.

JP got a HUGE contract from Cam?

That alone made me disregard your whole post . . . . Cam probably had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do w/ the JP signing.

I am not gonna lie, Cam did have some head scratching call during the season . . . and if there is a better guy in place . . . that is fine . . . but that is just it . . . WHO is out there?

Just a BUNCH of coordinators, like Cam was last year . . . atleast w/ Cam, we keep the same offensive system in place . . . and that would be something we haven't done in 6+ years.

Now if Parcells goes out and brings in Marty Schott or Bill Cowher . . . then I will say, well we brought in an experienced guy as a HC to take over, I can understand . . . but even bringing in Garrett, or whoever else, I just will not be sold.

Parcell's needs to focus on the defense first anyways . . . being ranked #32 is just unacceptable IMO. Especially for a guy who is the highest paid COORDINATOR in the league, and makes MORE than Cameron does.

Yeah. Tom Landry was winless in his first year as a head coach. He was a special coach, wasn't he?

I see where your coming from but how many wins did they have when all of this was happening? Zero and that falls on the HC and his staff for not preparing this team properly every week, he is not meant to be a coach he is a coordinator and that is all he will be.

Parcels is never going to say the record was due to coaching. I will be disappointed if Cam doesn’t get to follow through with his plan for molding this team into his vision. I prefer the San Diego style to the age-old Giants style of Parcels, just my opinion. I think the Dolphins would be a better team going in the directon Cam would take us. Time will tell…

Not preparing properly, what, this was a young team, it just wasn't good enough. I was surprise they played so close in a lot of games..but I was excited about getting a lot of the rookies and young guys some playing time, even if it meant suffering thru this year. Now, here we go again..we're never get anywhere changing coaching staffs every 2 years.

Wrong, Cam and Mueller both flew out to Porter's house in California to talk contract and that was the main reason why Porter signed with the Fins. He did not prepare this team properly every week and as the weeks went on he started losing the team, the win against Baltimore helped stop the bleeding but the fight between Traylor and Carey, Hadnot on the plane is an example and JP calling him out during the team meeting is another example. He is a coordinator and that is all.

Nice straw man argument. What about all the coaches that sucked their first year and went on to continue to suck? Care to name those?

I'm indifferent about Cameron. A lot of what happened wasn't his fault. But I also failed to see many positive attributes he brought to the table. And all these leaks of late about the players and his own coaching staff not liking him isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.

i think once parcells gets his guy now, he will keep him for the time he is here. I dont see a coaching change happening once he finds his guy. parcells knows that its not good to get a new headcoach every other year or every two years so i think he will find the "right" guy and he will be here for a period of time.

People jumped ship on Cam, and blames the downfall of the Defense on him . . . when before he was hired, he was here to save our offense, and our defense would be in the hands of the highest paid coordinator in the league.

Cam had this offense putting up some solid numbers until his starting QB, RB went out for the season, and then the teams best WR got traded because a trend for the future was the decided route we would take.

I don't forget those things, only thing I want Cam to do is keep this offense in place . . . and focus more on the team as a whole . . . hire a OC to run his system and with these players in the same system, I will hope for better next year. It doesn't make sense to hire another OC to be the HC, I'm sorry . . . I don't care about 1-15 . . . stability is more important.

So you are just writing this move off as Parcells firing Cameron based on nothing of substance. Is it possible, that he reviewed some games and just didn't like what he saw, along with interviewing some of the core players and no liking what he has heard from them? Didn't you yourself just post a thread citing troubling signs from Cameron that made you think he'd get fired?

Cameron did in fact inherit a bad team built by the inept hands of Dave Wannstedt.
However, Cameron took what little he had on this roster and made it worse IMO rather than getting anything out of the roster.

I have no beef with Cameron getting the axe.
I will align myself with you in the worry of whether Parcells will build a coach and staff based on finding coaches he thinks are top talent or whether he'll build a staff of buddies he thinks may be ready and because they are friends he'll give them that shot here.
    This does concern me.

Coughlin is still disliked by players but they respect him because he knows what he is doing, Cam on the other hand is not respected and doesn't know what he is doing.

the Giants also have MUCH better talent around that team . . . and talent can make any coach look great.

Cam hasn't had the chance to bring in that kind of talent . . . and the talent was obviously void on this team by the lack of draft picks on it.

No, I was saying he signed with Miami because they flew out to his house and pursued him aggresively. Cam had to play a part because he was the HC, what player would sign with a team if he didn't like the coach.
