Possibly our best player and we will listen to trade offers....
If this is the case we'd probably look to any one on the team as a potential trade offer...The question is ...ya for a ridiculous price which in reality no team in their right mind would Ever offer, and thus makes this whole idea moot...
Only thing that would make this even stupider is if we dealt him to Belichick......
Ya the Dolphins just have to many game breakers, lets get rid of a few, oh ya, we don't have a few........
Gives us room to sign another potential keeper to fill the backup for a backup...

With any luck, Cutler is looking at short to medium routes when the bomb isn't open.

Seriously though, besides the upcoming extension talks, you have to wonder if the recent domestic issue is playing a role. Also, we are dealing from a potential position of strength at WR. We don't NEED to offload him, but we also don't NEED to keep him. If the offer is not legit, we won't trade.

It wasn't that simple.
We placed a second round tender on him, and the Patriots was considering giving an offer sheet that would have basically been a poison pill. And that's when the trade happened.
With that said, we have a very good trio of receivers in Landry, Parker, and Stills. And I'd really hate to see that ruined.

You're right. The Pats ended up signing him to a 5-year deal averaging 3.6 million a year, whereupon he got them 1175 yards the first year and made the Pro Bowl the other four years.
We need to know how much cap space we had in 2007 compared to how much the Patriots had in order to evaluate what happened. If the Pats had given Welker an offer sheet at 3.6M a year, did we have the cap room to match it? Teams with a lot of cap space can front-load their offer sheets to put a team with less room in cap hell if they match - Like the Bills did to us with Clay. What were the two teams' respective cap positions, I wonder? Or did we simply undervalue Welker while the Pats knew his true value?
I think we are going to have to pay Landry if we want to keep him, and the time to negotiate is now.

Christ if we could just refrain from FA signings of potential backups to compete with our back ups we'd save some more doe...( ex. we needed LB, Good one out there we sign Sylvestre....not putting him down just wonder if Doe could be used more efficiently, I mean looks like we got our share of them types and damn come on this isn't congress figuring out what to do with the money
There are ways to make this work if the will to do it is there and the recognition that this maybe critically important to our offense having success down the road.
And save us from another draft looking for his replacement in the higher rds a couple years from now.....We been there and did that, hell still do it...JMO

It's difficult for 2 teams to agree on player for player values. That's why rarely 2 top players are traded for each other. I think a 1st round pick is more plausible than your pipe dreams of Carr/Prescott/Von/LOL...Wow
Brasfinforum_veteranIt doesn't hurt to listen.... if the trade involves a 1st rounder.
If Landry truly wants top 5 WR money and a some team is willing to trade a 1st rounder for him, we'd be crazy not to at least think about it and weigh the pros and cons. Wouldn't take anything less than a first though.
