Did you predict that we would get to 10-6 and a playoff visit? I'm sure you didn't. So if you are wrong about that, how do you think your questions are logical in the sense that the guy who coached the team to those victories didnt know wtf he was doing when it came to the starting RB??

So Gase was willing to go 1-4 just to motivate him? I don't buy it. He sure showed a lot of faith by going to him only after Foster was injured and even then only gave him 5, 6, then 7 snaps in a row each game. But I'm clueless for thinking that was the plan all along.

You keep believing coaches without forming your own opinion. Don't question anything. I guess having your own opinion about who should start constitutes having a conspiracy theory.

He didn't go 1-4 in order to teach Ajayi a lesson. This is something that you've made up out of thin air. I've already proven to you that Ajayi, from week 2 on was the leading ball carrier.

I keep believing what's been proven. Not some conspiracy theory like MM isn't a starting QB in the league because 3 different teams and 4-5 different coaches staffs had it out for him, like you do. haha

No, but that was the result of a decision he made.

That's not being contested. It was the decision to start Foster, then give Ajayi barely any opportunities until Ajayi forced him to with a 200 yard rushing game. That'll make me question a coach's decision making.

What's so controversial about that? You seem like you just want to bicker and argue. If you disagree, you don't have to call me a conspiracy theorist or quote me and then say "we didn't play the Giants, that goes to show what you know" or whatever you said.

I never said they had it out for him. I said they went to guys that weren't worth starting like a 44 year old Testaverde and Tannehill who started a single season at Texas A&M and didn't do much.

    You're so petty.

I don't trust Tannehill beat Moore in camp, private practices or in the QB room, or watching film. I honestly believe they had the full intention of starting him ASAP...

How is that a conspiracy theory? Is it a stretch to say Philbin hired Sherman, Tannehill's HC at Texas A&M with the intention of starting him to buy time to lose initially? Philbin is the same guy who later said he wanted Derek Carr, so it's not like he wasn't looking out for himself. If you go through NFL history, you'll find a ton of examples of coaches looking out for themselves.

Claiming that a HC is purposely losing games is the definition of a conspiracy theory.

It's becoming more and more clear that you're just trolling.

Let's think about it. Moore brought us out of the abyss in 2011. Tannehill converted from wide receiver to QB and started a single season in college, doing the same job as the guy he replaced. Wow. I'm such a whack job.

It's not that he'd lose on purpose. It's to buy time to lose initially because he's a rookie with one starting season in college you damn troll.

You keep saying that RT started only 1 year in college. Are you purposely ignoring when RT beat out Jerrod Johnson during the 2010 season after about the 5th game?

RT was always a QB. He, however, volunteered to play WR because of reasons I'm sure you're not aware of. You should research those reasons.

I trust Gase's decision to promote Burke to defensive coordinator. I think this is a good move that will prove itself to be a smart decision from here on out. I have no basis to this opinion. I'm just excited to see what he would do with this defense.

Passer Rating? You're serious? After watching Matty pad those stats in garbage time in 2 losses like he did against Pitt in the final 5 or 6 mins of a blow out?

Your theory might have made sense if they hadn't already brought in David Garrard and announced him as the starter and that Tannehill would sit out. It wasn't until after Guarrard was out that that changed.

As for Gase and jayi, have to keep in mind that Gase was implementing a new Offense with a new OL. Makes perfect sense that he'd want a seasoned vet, who was a good pass protector starting early in the season until his other young backs, Ajayi, Williams, and Drake had proven themselves.

Yes, he was expecting to lose Vance and went for continuity with a guy who had paid his dues in TN, Detroit, and Cinci. Won't matter who the DC is though if we don't pick up 2 or 3 LBs and an Edge guy or two...

Gase has earned my trust when it comes to these decisions. I would loved to have Wade Phillips here, but a youthful approach may work out great. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Oh, this complete and total BS response again... lmao... that's a desperation fall back. Tannehill was a QB in HS and a QB all throughout college. He played WR, while remaining a QB, to help the team out in an area of need. Shows he wasn't an a-hole or a Tebow (I'll only play QB) type and you want to twist that as another knock on him to try and belittle him.

And Moore's 2011 season was his peak and solidified him as a backup. That was all that season proved.

Your theories and biases are pretty whack indeed.

Something tells me that's is exactly what we are doing in the draft. Maybe one in free agency. His background impresses me. I feel we may be better under Burke than Joseph. Not to mention his players will be healthy for a change.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Don Shula didn't always have experience before he got into coaching. Gase didn't have Head Coach experience and Burke doesn't have DC experience. Let's take a risk and see what happens.

I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, even though I preferred a DC with prior experience at the position.
I did get a good laugh though when I read your comment about him knowing the defense. Because this defense sucked this year and the worst unit on the defense was the unit he coached, the linebackers.
Hopefully he will forget this defense and come up with one that will actually stop the opposing offenses.

This defense at times showed much potential. The problem is that we didn't have players in the right position and players were injured. The defenses he has been around has been good in their own right. I believe he will use his experiences to customize the defense to fit the players. Then he'll try to attack like they were supposed to do this past season. It's going to be interesting.

Thanks man. In all seriousness I took a step back and realized that I was coming off as an a-hole. It wasn't intended, but it was there.

Anyhow, I still get a little riled up now and again, but I've taken a cue from most of you guys in the club and try to just be more as-a-matter-of-fact than snarky. lol

I think most long-timers have gone through their moments as well. We all love the dolphins, easy to take hard stances that we believe would make our team better. I try to see others' perspectives even when I don't agree, but sometimes the nonsense is just too much

It's not the disagreement. It's how petty and snarky he gets. It's a character issue. I know most people disagree with me about the QB situation.

To be honest I do not think it was a motivational move by Gase. I think it was 100% a personal move. If someone would have given up a lower round draft pick for him, he would have been gone.

Basically, Ajayi had a "poop or get off the pot moment". To be honest it was the player who told him, "this can make you or break you." or something to that matter, when he was left behind in Seattle. After that, Jay came to Gase, had a good talk, Gase gave him another chance, and Jay took the ball and ran with it. Literally!

I do not think this was a motivational move by Gase. If Gase was trying to motivate Jay, I think it would be considered a failure since the Dolphins did lose 4 games in the first 5 games, partly due to a lack of running game. Motivate Jay in the offseason!

However, one thing I do like about Gase is that he is willing to give players the chance to get out of the dog house. He doesn't just put a player there like our last coach and just leave him there because he isn't Christian enough or whatever reason he had. Gase treats players like grown men. When they mess up, he lets them know it won't be tolerated. When they show the work, the lets them know that is what he is looking for. I extremely like this about Gase. He also doesn't blame players for his own mistakes like an old defensive coordinator of ours.

I think the thing Gase gets is how to deal with/motivate players. Some (Williams) simply won't be motivated, I don't see that as a fail from a coaching standpoint- you just cut bait and move on. Others (Ajayi) get motivated and become better players overall. Seems to me he has done this to several players this year.

The deal with the Linebackers.... we had special teamers at the position. Also at Safety. The whole back end of the defense was a wreck with injuries and guys playing that are good special team players but not starters on a good Defense.

It was a poop or get off the pot moment (as far as being a starter), but it was also motivational. Gase knew what he had in Ajayi. He said so himself during minicamp. No way was he going to trade him for a lower round pick. Do you have a source for that? That would have been an extremely dumb move. The talk of how good he was and that he had the starting job locked up seemed to get into Jay's head and it got too big for his helmet. Gase humbled Jay which motivated him.
