According to the web site, authorities in Fulton County, Georgia have decided to pursue criminal charges against Marshall. Specifically, misdemeanor battery charges were filed on September 10, stemming from an alleged incident that occurred on March 4, 2008 between Marshall and his then-girlfriend, Rasheeda Watley.
An initial court date in November or December is expected. Coincidentally, the Broncos travel to Atlanta for a game against the Falcons on November 16.

wow, waited six months to go after the guy. I guess they figured, "lets see what happend when he plays again, 15+ receptions, lets go after him, otherwise, he aint worth it."

Bad deal for Marshall here. According to many reports, he has been trying to change so much. I know he talked about being a businessman this off-season and how he looks up to John Lynch. Marshall had been hanging out with a bad crew and he is finally letting them go which is why he likely is getting charged 6 months later. At least he's changing, that's a big positive. I hope he can keep a clean image after this. -
If they knew he had pending issues then I would at least think they'd make him suspended for the original 3 games. -

Well his lawyer is on record saying the NFL has been aware of it since day 1.
Charge finally filed against Marshall - The Denver Post
I'm not a lawyer, but if the broad in question waited this long to file the charges (battery, keep in mind. 6 months after any physical evidence went byebye) then I would think she saw that he just came back strong and knows he can't get into trouble because of his situation with the suspension.
Therefore, she probably thinks that she can file these charges and hope that he'll just want to settle out of court (pay her off) to eliminate the possibility of getting convicted of anything.alen1 likes this. -
Marshall's lawyer has to be pretty damn good with how he worked Goodell and the system so far. -

Another opinion piece if you ask me. Didn't offer any facts.
I hate how ESPN writers put "REPORT" on their columns and try to pass it off like it's an official statement from the NFL. -
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league was aware of the allegations in the Atlanta incident at the time it suspended Marshall, prior to the start of this season. He added that Marshall could face more disciplinary action from the league, depending on the outcome of the case.
"We have been aware of these potential charges," Aiello said. "We will continue to monitor the case and review it under our policy as appropriate."alen1 likes this.
