Not really. They were just commenting on the absurity that Taylor had signed a contract with Miami. They called out Armando because they talked to some sources who said it was a flat-out lie and that 12 teams have contacted him but not the Dolphins. They then went back and explained the imposter situation.

 

Translation: Another season ending injury early in September.

I love JT, but damn. He really needs to get slapped upside the head with the Jerry Rice/Chris Carter book on the offseason. Especially at this point in his career.

 

i disagree... if he was with the dolphins, he would be able to come in for the conditioning program because he lives in Miami... if he was to go to that many in Washington, hed have to stay up there and couldn't be with his family...

if he was in Miami, he could do both... if he gave a miami discount, id love to bring him in to be a situational passrusher...

JT wants to be with his family over the offseason. He does not want to be in Hollywood. He wants to work and his track record has shown he is a hard worker - its just that he doesn't want to lift weights in DC. He wants to lift weights in S. Florida so he can be near his kids. The guy's making $8 million. He could easily hire the greatest personal trainer in the history of the universe and be in just as good of shape (if not better), than if he lifted the same weights in DC.

Don't let your hate for JT cloud reality.

Your argument makes no sense whatsoever.

The man signed a contract. The contract allowed JT to do offseason workouts wherever he wants. The Skins asked him to renegotiate and tried to add a clause forcing him to workout during the offseason in DC. JT wanted to spend the offseason with his family. He didn't agree to the new contract and got cut. End of story.

How does this make him a prima donna? How is this comparable to a truck driver? Maybe JT judged his market value and realized he could get a new deal with a new team for $6 mil (instead of $8 mil), but the new deal would allow him to be with his family.

Alot of teams want his services for the right price because they know he still can produce for them. If we get him for the right price id actually be very happy.

 

I'll take him back any day of the week! How quickly some forget what he gave this team. Gimme him and Zach back and we'd be that much better of a team! Even if only for one more season...

 

I wouldn't mind having him at the veteran minimum with some incentives as a situational pass rusher. But I don't like his prima donna attitude. And neither does Parcells. It would be an enormous shock to see him back in a Dolphin's uniform given the way things played out last season before he was traded. Not to mention the fact that he thinks he's above having to work out. Given his age, it's increasingly important for him to be in the weight room working. He isn't willing to do that.

Depends I'm not to sure where the show was shot and where he practiced at. I dont watch the show so I couldn't tell you where he was at, if he went home for weekends whatnot.
Either way it doesn't really discount that what you said is inaccurate.

I'm sure that paying him that large sum of money and being rewarded with a whopping 29 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks for the investment played a little part in that.

Because instead of attending the program and getting himself in better shape so he doesn't hobble to his feet after every good hit (which you know you've seen him do MANY times when he was in Miami) and maybe earning his money after a LOUSY season, he chooses to "stay with his family".

Because it's part of his job, just like the truck driver. If YOU had as much of a slack off while working your job as he did, you'd be fired. So would I. So would anyone else. He was given the choice to do something about it, and he chose not to.

And it was pretty well known that Dancing with the Stars was part of the reason. The other reason was because he felt like he didn't HAVE to be with the team to work out. He said he was staying in shape on his own. Well, after suffering through the season with Washington, it would appear he wasn't working all that hard to stay in shape given that he missed a huge part of the season.

He deliberately alienated himself from the Dolphins after the 1-15 disaster. He made it obvious that he wanted out. What did he do that would make Parcell's, Ireland, or Sparano even consider taking him back?

 

No you were inaccurate in stating that he just didn't want to work out. His reasoning is he wants to be near his family. You are taking the fact that he did not sign with the redskins as he does not want to workout rather then he just didnt want to workout for the redskins/in DC, whichever reason you may wish to believe.

Not really. Again you are drawing a conclusion from little to no evidence. It could be a factor, I wouldn't say it was though for sure.

I never said they would/should want him back. I would trust that if they don't persue him they have their reasons.

 

When I was talking about him working out, I wasn't only talking about with the Redskins, I was talking mainly about him not working out with the Dolphins last year. That was the beginning of the rift between Taylor and the new regime. The fact that he isn't working out with the Redskins, IMO, is indicative of a pattern. It may be true that he didn't want to stay in Washington because he wanted to be with his family in Florida. But that reasoning wouldn't look good to the Redskins because he did the same thing with Miami before he was traded.

" You don't know that at all. You're totally reading into the situation to fit your preconceived assumptions about JT. You miss the fact that JT can lift weights anywhere on the planet. He can be as successful in Miami as he is in DC.

And your truck driver analogy is also flawed, because you're assuming that JT is "slacking" off.

JT wants to be with his family. That does not make him a prima donna. And if you're insinuating that I'm a JT "fanboy", you're outta your mind. Finally, no, JT is not the only player to be away from his family. PLENTY of NFL players do their offseason workouts in their home city. It happens all the time. Its called the "offseason" for a reason.

 

That works if you ignore what he did before that. In other words he had a pattern before. This could be the beginning of the patter, but given what has happened before, I would say one pattern has been more prevalent.

 

No more so than you telling everyone not to "let their hate cloud their reality."

Can every player work out at home, I'm sure they could. That isn't the point. The point is, every washington redskin player (and it would seem Miami Dolphin player) reports to the conditioning program together. This is a team, there is something to be said about going through the rigors of conditioning and camp together as a team. You build camaraderie and an ability to understand what your teammates are going to do in a given situation without having to watch them.

Your success should not make you an exception to the rules. Jason Taylor would not have a single sack with miami had it not been for 10 other guys on that field. Allowing exceptions is how you divide a locker room. ie. Brett Farve and the Jets Every player gets treated equally. Frankly, JT's attitude blows... it's selfish and destructive. It's completely counter to the proven system established in New England and to everything that Parcells seems to believe as well.

I don't hate JT, I just don't want him on this team. Thankfully, the trio agree.

 

With Wake and Porter...who needs that Drama Queen.
