    I'd be happy with just a 4th

I know it's not a popular opinion... others hold Taylor in much higher regard than I do right now... but, I'd take a 3rd in a second. I'd consider taking a 4th. I'm just ready for this to be over with, so we can get back to concentrating on the players we have that are committed to the team, and that are busting their butts to make this team better.

The Packers are tightwads, I cant see them giving up much at all for Taylor.

I'm really torn about this JT stuff. On one hand, he's my favorite player, regardless of him being a Fin (even tho that certainly gives him a head up on most any other player...) On the other hand, what may just be best for the Fins at this point in time would be to trade him away and get the most in return...

However, he's really sealed his fate with the statement that he'll only play one more season. What team would really want to trade for him given his proclamation ??

I even thought that the G-men would be interested in him, as a replacement for Strahan, but still that one year left thing puts a damper on any really good opportunities for us to get value in return for his services...

Nah, I don't/didn't see them being interested after the news came out that Tuck would be their starting end. They said at worst, Kiwanuka would start at end.

Yeah the GMen are set, Tuck played very well in relief, they need to give him a starting shot before thinking about this.

As for Green Bay, its a possibilty, depends on how bad KGB is. Remember their other end (Kampman) is top notch. I would consider a third or a package of lower round things, but draw the line absolutely at 4th. Its all about the value Taylor could bring to us and our young guys for one year versus the value a pick (namely a fourth) would bring for us. Ill take Taylor for a year over a fourth.

Maybe one of their corners? Not starting but maybe Jarrett Bush. I always liked him. Add him and a 2nd rounder. I still don't think that would equal out to Jason's value but you get what you can I guess.

That they would part with willingly? That would really upgrade our team? I doubt it. I bet someone will bring up Atari Bigby though

Will Blackmon might be a guy worth asking for in return. Decent enough talent to get it done with a low rounder attached, like a 5th or 6th. Getting a player for Jt will drop the price on anything else we want or wanted.

For those who don't know who he is.

To be honest why we haven't called Houston and asked if they need him is beyond me. Put him opposite Mario Willams, and look out for that D-line. It maight be able to carry the team for a while with that talent in the front 7 along with Okoye.

I was thinking him or Jarrett Bush. Both pretty good young players. We could also go after some of their young linemen. I've heard a lot of Junius Coston who's a Guard. He is versatile.

I'd be more interested in a backup OT who can play both sides, than anything else to be honest woth you. With all of the bodies we have for the G spot we should be able to find someone who can hold their water. OT on the other hand is a much bigger concern at the backup level for me.

That and second is corner depth. Safety is fine - if we have that many inuries back there again then what can we do? Carry 8 on the roster just in case? We just ahve to deal with it. At least there isn't a Cameron Worrell back there.

That's true. I'm looking through their roster to see what they have. The following are their tackles:

    Name: Hgt: Wgt: Age:

    Ryan Considine 6-4 302 24
    Breno Giacomini 6-7 303 22
    Tony Moll 6-5 304 24
    Orrin Thompson 6-6 322 25

Breno Giacomini is the only one working with the second team. The others are on the third.

The problem with that is that Harris and Woodson, while still really freaking good, are aging. I dont think they trade away their replacement tbh.

As for Houston, they might be more interested if Taylor was gonna play more than one year. As it is though, one year doesnt really help them much.

obviously a player and a pick lowers the pick value but we keep hearing about high draft picks and a stone wall from Parcells. if we can get value through a young player or players and a low pick it might be a way for two sides to be satisfied and get the job done.

The Packers were a field goal away from the Super Bowl last year. They're now a Brett Favre away from the Super Bowl; they're going to need whatever help they can get in terms of pass rush.

Parcells says Taylor is worth a 1st round pick, so let's see if that holds.

Yeah but I think they would be willing to part with them. They can always draft a CB. Harris and Woodson could play another year after this one so the rookie will be groomed. One thing I have heard is that Al Harris is in danger of losing his job to Tramon Williams. Williams has reportedly been making many plays. I don't see Harris losing his job just yet though.

i can't help but think that if JT were on a team that he really believed had a chance he would play out his contract and maybe one more year.

So your saying that since their a lot farther away now that their going to give up a 1st for a guy who says hes only playing one more year? Dont see it. We're talking about a franchise that wouldnt give up more than a 5th for Randy Moss when they had Brett Favre.

I'm saying they might want to augment their pass rush to make up for a dropoff at the QB position.

Aaron Rodgers looked very good in relief of Favre last year, but this is still his first starting season. A stronger pass rush can help take some of the pressure off him. That's my impression of their interest in Taylor, anyway.

I don't see them giving up a first rounder but I think they would be willing to part with a draft pick because like DOLPHAN1 stated, Jason would likely play more than one year if the team was in contention.

I really dont see them being a contender their first year with Rodgers as their starter. Add to that the schedule they have in 08. I would say its very unlikely that they get very far. I wouldnt even be that suprised if Minn takes control of their division.

And even if they would give up a pick, I cant see it being anything more then a 3rd. That seems like a long shot to me anyways.

I think they could go 9-7. They may sneak in the playoffs if they don't win the division. Also, about Minnesota, their QB is still unproven. I think that Peterson may not have a HUGE year because there will be more attention payed to him (for example: Niner's game. Stacked eight in the box the whole game, held AP to 1 yard on 14 carries. That's one game and I don't think he will have that bad of a game often but he may be slowed down).

It's a possibility but it still is somewhat of a long shot for a third just because Thompson doesn't deal picks like you have stated previously.

Oh lol, I was like WTF Jason?

Yeah JARED Allen will be a great pick-up for them but he doesn't play offense. I wouldn't be surprised to see teams stack the box and try to get Jackson to beat them with his arm.

Minnesota will be competitive, but need Jackson to play much better to make an impact. As you said, if he cant get the job done, 8 in the box and stuff AP. Teams will be looking to scheme him as well. If Jackson comes out and plays well they can be pretty good, if not they havent made a significant upgrade from this past season.
And Detroit and Chicago just blow.

Talent from top to bottom I think GB has the edge, but the deciding factor will be who plays better between Jackson and Rogers.

I dont think GB will be willing to part with much.

We shall see. I've only seen like 20 something passes from Rodgers so its hard to tell right now. Between Beck, Jackson, Rodgers and Edwards its def going to be interesting to see who sinks and who swims.

I'm also thinking Sidney Rice could be a big sleeper in fantasy leagues if Jackson gets his **** together. Hopefully people forgot about him in my league.

That's true. I think there will be a big difference of success for the Vikings because of Jackson's play. If he plays terribly, they still may make the playoffs but won't go too far. If he plays well then they could be up there for contention of the SB.
