This was my favorite pick in the draft because his talents (I feel) are most needed on this team immediately. All of our picks were impressive but I am really excited about this kid. I have had my eye on him for a while. Jones (#9) is a big, smart, hard hitting ball hawk who plays with an attitude. What an awesome pick!! Check out the videos......... I'll call him "Hit Stick" With good coaching, this kid should strike fear in receviers later down the line, going across the middle. Hopefully.
Thanks cobrajet. I think you're right about this kid. It's been a long, long time since we had someone back there that receivers had to worry about. I wish we could have drafted another safety though. I think we could have used the depth. He's an awesome pick.
Guy has some pretty good ball skills. I also like the fact he kneeled down after his interception with 12 seconds left in the game to ice. Seems like a really smart player.
Your wish is my command, my friend.... Misi is #41 Enjoy! http://www.miamidolphins.com/aquavision/video/koa-misi-college-highlights
Thanks Cobra, he looks like he is quick as heck. I can't wait to see what he can do at the next level. I think this guy is the key to our entire draft.
Thanks my friend, I like this guy a lot. Ireland is amazing because he doesn't rely on the evaluation of the Mel Kiper's of the world to pick. We find talent that the network water cooler boys missed and make them stars. I can't wait for the season to start!
jones will be good. i noticed watching the 2nd video (the 1st vid that hit WAS NOT illegal) and alot of georgia defenders were standing around waiting for the ball carrier to come to them, reshad jones was always flying to the ball. thats good stuff. great hitter, good speed. i love the pick!
thats exactly who we just got. Just not as athletic. i dont think you guys realize how bad he is in coverage. this guy is a major, major project. He has the athleticism and he hits like hell but he is a mjor liability in coverage here are some comments from bulldogs fans when he announced he was leaving for the draft Reshad please leave you have been nothing but awful for UGA. You can’t cover, commit stupid penalties, and look totally lost in the secondary. If you are a high draft pick I will be shocked. Rashad, Rashad…where do I begin? Bryan Evans is not the only safety on this team who is garbage in pass coverage…You have digressed in that facet…your tackling has gotten moderately better, but you are not great….The NFL advisory board is not accurate at all…they tell all players what they want to hear…Why the hell would the NFL say,”hell, stay in college another year…” They don’t give a crap if you get better in college… Jones has improved his tackling skills from last year. He still struggles big time in pass coverage. One more year will only benefit his draft stock. Good riddance to Reshad Jones. He is the defensive equivalent of Jasper Sanks. I’m sure when the NFL scouts get a hold of the tape demonstrating his tackling skills against Roddy Jones in 2008, they’ll jettison him immediately to the practice squad as an undrafted free agent. This guy is a clown. I hopes Jones do go to the draft. He hasn’t really impress me much these last two years. He’ll either makes stupid foul play or gets beat. IMO, he suxs. Probably gets drafted between 4-6 RD. He would benefit his stock if he comes back, but I think he is gone. I’m also glad that Miller be gone too. He is too short and gets beat too much. Probaby won’t get drafted. Rennie C. will be drafted between 4-6 RD. That’s too bad. He is a good player and plays big heart, but his size killed his stock. It would have been good for him to come back, but he has to do what’s best for him and his family. http://blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blo...een-the-hedges/?cxntfid=blogs_uga_sports_blog
I really like this kid's swagger, he looks like he really enjoys playing football and being a Safety...
Vontae has quite a bit of attitude. He didn't hesitate to get into Steve Smith's face during the Carolina game and he showed Tom Brady what he thought about his 2 INTs
im okay with a safety that delivers the punishment honestly. well find out soon enough if he is a chaser
