Jones isn't attending practise. The media seem all to be in agreement that this is a strong indication Reshad isn't happy.
I hate when guys don't show for voluntary workouts, and it becomes this whole media circus. Like, they're voluntary.
See Res I look at it like the opposite, your getting paid a full time salary, the least you can do as a player is show up for three days to be with your team.. Only under certain circumstances would I allow it if I was a coach..
If you want to hear Flores in this yourself here's a link to the video: https://www.pscp.tv/MiamiDolphins/1ZkKzrPZgBaKv Skip to 5:56 for the section on Jones.
Yeah...except it's voluntary. LOL. By definition, it's optional. I really couldn't care less if an established vet is skipping. But really, I hate all the articles and reports that come out full of speculation, without anything of substance to back them up.
In fairness it does seem clear from the video that Flores isn't happy that Jones is away from camp/would rather have Reshad at camp. Although that's different from saying it's an indication the Dolphins and/or Reshad are moving on.
Trade him. He's not part of the rebuild. He also pissed me off when he took himself out of a game last season.
Its unfortunate that such a good player feels the way he does about the Dolphins. Last regime did not know how to utilize two studs at safety and since then it has left a bad taste in his mouth. Probably doesnt want to be part of a rebuild either.
Honestly, hes starting to become a guy I dont want on this team. Here is the thing...the man is paid well for what he does. If he wants to win, be a man and be part of the solution rather than a constant problem. He lost some of my respect last year.
I like everything that Jones has given to the Fins, but the time has come to move on, given his age, health and the expectations of the Fins for the next couple of years. It'll be best for both sides if a deal can be made next week.
Honestly even though it is "Voluntary", I find it concerning when players dont take advantage of every opportunity to be on the field, especially during a regime change. Also the quote of "He chose not to be here" says it all IMO.
