He's got a roster full of free agents and "hasbeens" and he's at it again. Watch the video. . . . http://blogs.nfl.com/2011/02/24/ryan-guarantees-super-bowl-win-for-jets/?module=HP_spotlight
Cue Darrelle in 3....2....1 "I love this guy with all my heart. I swear on my soul. It's us against the world. Revis is the greatest defensive player eva!" sent from my EVO 4G
I don't blame the guy, there's a method to his madness. That team gets a lot of its swagger and confidence from him, and statements like that. He gets the team to believe in themselves, and him that way. Having said that, the flip side is that it is a risky path to take. If they don't cash in, and fairly soon, then those proclamations are going to become increasingly hollow and he's going to find it harder to motivate and control that team.
His boasting predictions have made him the Muhammad Ali of football. The only difference is that Ali REALLY was the greatest and this guy is a delusional putz.
Have to give him kudos for having a pair of balls but unfortunately, Jets are not even going to be in the playoffs next year. Sorry Rex.
the guy has proven his metal as coach. nothing wrong with aiming high, the jets have earned the right. unlike Sparano, Rex has backed up his words with action. personally, I'd exchange head coaches in a NewYork minute. having said that: "there is many a slip between the cup & the lip..." just another opinion, nobody knows tomorrow's history nothing would surprise me
Can you even imagine Tony coaching for the Jets ? There would be thousands upon thousands of foam rubber arms with fists on the ends all around the stadium LMAO !!!!!!!!!! Fireman Ed Would have one on both arms. Actually, I have always thought Ryan was a good coach. The NY media and fans LOVE Bravado, wel, they have it big time with Rex at the head of the ship. Right coach, for the right city and the right fans. Could not imagine Rex, being the way he is, coaching anywhere in the Midwest. The local media and fans would rar and feather him for being a braggot.
all you have to do is be right & win. two things Rex has proven he can be. football is not a gentleman's sport its all about winning games in the NFL I'd exchange head coaches in a NewYork minute. with Sparano continuing @ the helm, I'm loath to criticize the Jets
Wish we had their Oline coach, Callahan. Guy was crap as a HC at Oakland and then at Nebraska but when it comes to offensive line ? There are non better, maybe as good, but certainly not better.
Grow up. I hate how people think seniority grants them super fandom over anyone else. Congratulations, when you kick the bucket in a few years he will be catching up......silly....
I'm not a Knicks fan but I am so glad they got Carmelo Anthony which has dominated the NY news and pushed Rex to the side, otherwise this would be news. Luckily I've only seen this in social media places. Though I haven't watched ESPN much in the past 2 months. Why does he always have to start talking right after the Super Bowl? Way to try and steal the real Champions' thunder. Wait until August at least to talk. Go eat a sandwich until then.
My question for the Rotund Blowhard is: "I guarantee a Super Bowl win"..or what? Well he stop coaching? Quit the Jets? What? Where is the jeopardy for this blowhard? If there is none this means absolutely nothing, just more Rexicane hot air.
He better win or atleast get the jets to the superbowl or his credibility is shot. They don't make it and All he becomes in that town and the NFL IS a blowhard. NY media will turn on him if he don't get them there. Should be fun to watch. And this winning fixes everything is BS. he can win 10 games a year but they lose in the playoffs or not make it and see what that winning gets you...i remember winning 10-11 games a year too...didn't seem to be enough.
whats that saying about crying wolf too many times? people stop listening. its pretty played out now Rex. hard to take you seriously now
Could not agree more regarding both Carmello and Rex. He obviously was trying to use his ridiculour pie hole to trump up some "sis boom bah" BS inside his team. Thankfully the media was distracted as well as I believe numbed by his previous rants. Say it once fool me its news, twice perhaps, three times I am the fool if its news. Cough, cough see Brett Favre. On an unrelated topic, for the most part, was never a knicks fan in fact despite living in NY and loving the city hate most of its teams. But from upstate and a 'cuse fan so LOVE mello and now my NY Knickerbockers!! Not a bandwagon jumper except to follow my guy (was a denver fan).
Sparano was the one with feed the wolf nobody can say what tomorrow will bring you can only see & measure the past so far, Rex has talked & walked the walk I'd take him over Sparano in a NewYork minute
Rex can't keep his mouth shut. He is now predicting that the Knicks will win the NBA Championship as well....
He aims high .Whats wrong with that other than missing the target ? That put on added pressure for him and the team to perform.
its all about tangible results, post season, the Superbowl Rex is a better coach than Tony. reality: NY actually has the talent & momentum to dream of the SuperBowl in 2011 Miami is rebuilding an offense, stuck with an incompetent head-coach Ross misfired @ the end of the year let NY dream & Miami rebuild. eventually, after the reconstruction is correctly finished, we'll have our day. it is what it is. does no good to call Rex names or belittle a better team. we need to deal with our own situation
