I have listened to a lot of the pre-season TC stops on Sirius and it has really struck me how different we are than almost all other NFL teams. The Jets, starting with Rex and continuing on down through Tanny and all the players just seem to be much more passionate and excited about the Jets and football in general. Bill Belichick has had a hugely profound impact on the game of football. Owners have very much bought into his style and when you hear the head coaches of other teams they are all so business like and corporate and so dis-passionate about their teams. They seem distant and detached. They certainly seem motivated and intelligent and want to win, but they come across as these stoic all business administrators. You hear all the time on NFLN and ESPN that this is a desirable trait and they always compliment the calm analytical coaches But Rex is different. He is so excited and proud to be the leader of the Jets that it almost seems exaggerated and fake. But it is not. No coach in the NFL is as passionate about his team and his players than Rex. No other coach that I have heard sounds anything like him. It is infectious and motivating. I swear sometimes when I hear him I want to go find some pads and lay someone out in coverage. I live in San Diego and went to the Chargers Jets playoff game two years ago. Before the game when the Jets players were doing their stretches and warmups, Rex went to every single player and encouraged and embraced them. You could see the effect he had on his players and the mutual respect. Norv on the other hand talked to no one before the game. I really think that was the difference in that game. But it does not stop with Rex. All of the Jets players have that same attitude. Some may call it arrogance, but all I see is confidence and passion. The Jets embrace their emotions and don't care what anyone else thinks. It is the difference between us and other teams, and why we WILL win the super bowl under Rex. I have never been more excited to be a Jets fan.
Eh, we shall see, that rah rah stuff only goes so far DR, and Burress for Edwards? Agree about how bland the NFL coaches have become, sheesh it is like an accounting review. As Dolfan I love watching Ryan getting upset on the sidelines or pumped up or what have you, makes the game more interesting then a legion of Tom Landry's stoically watching the game.
Best part of Ryans "Passion" is watching him nearly choke himself when he throws his headset into the turf.
Good, because when they inevitably fail, and revert to the "same-old-jets", your pain will be intensified by your outrageous expectations. I love it!
Yeah wearing it on your sleeve is a guarantee of winning. If they don't win it all this year the story will be how Rex's act is old and he should talk less and coach more. My guess is he will put someones foot in his mouth with a ridiculous statement by end season.
I have never read a thread starter that chock full of facts and reason on any board...anywhere. Thank you OP. I mean most times, fans of other teams come in here and post emotional and biased laden rants. That's why your post stands as a shining example of what we look for on this site. Who can argue with facts like: • Rex Ryan is head coach of Jets • Norv Turner is head coach of the Chargers. I mean I dare anyone to deny that • Sirius has TC reports. Its like I'm reading a scientific journal entry.
I will take BB's method on anything over a guy who talks sheet and cant back it up...you end up looking like an ***.... Also why do you front NYC, and live in SD.....
Players see a different perspective than you, though. The passion he has makes the players want to play even harder. When was the last time did you see a coach other than Rex go as crazy as he did during the Texans game?
So...affection? That's your opinion on what a football team needs in order to win the Super Bowl? I guess sucking toes doesn't count as "affection" or else Rex would have 3 rings by now.
How would you know that ? Rex Ryan coached your intramural flag football team at the all-girls college?
When was the last time did you see a coach other than Rex go as crazy as he did during the Texans game? -How about when his dad attacked the Bears assitant coach?

looks like brady threw it over the "island"
LOL this is your attempt to belittle the Phins? Have you not noticed the fist pump feature? Sh*t is hilarious.
Notice how the "island" fails to bump the 170lb Ginn off the line...then notice how the "island" falls for the fake in route....then notice how the "island" is located 3 yards (and gaining) behind a WR that didnt really do a whole lot at the position. Revis is very good but lets be honest he's far far from Primetime#21.
