Rex Ryan 'tired of the embarrassment'

The man whose middle finger appeared on the back pages of New York tabloids a week before the Super Bowl held a meeting with his players Wednesday morning and told them to stop embarrassing the organization.

"Quite honestly, I'm basically tired of dealing with these issues," New York Jets coach Rex Ryan said Wednesday at his news conference. "I'm tired of the embarrassment to our owner and this organization. Let's just end it. Let's just stop. However severe or minor, we don't need to be that team."

EdwardsRyan was speaking for the first time about receiver Braylon Edwards being arrested Tuesday morning for drunk driving. Ryan sounded like a coach who'd had enough of eating cheeseburgers during practice, ogling credentialed media members and all-night carousing.

The collective bargaining agreement precludes the Jets from suspending Edwards or even deactivating him for Sunday night's game against the Miami Dolphins in Sun Life Stadium.

Guess he should have thought of that before he wanted his jests to be the most hated team in the league. :cry:

I don't understand how the CBA precludes Edwards from being deactivated. Last year JP pissed off Sparano and he deactivated him. How is this different?
I imagine you could file "getting drunk-of-your-*** and trying to drive" under breaking a team rule.

Does this mean they'll forfeit the Dolphins game Sunday night to avoid embarrassment?

These embarrassments never happened when Mangini was the coach. Rex needs to point that fat finger at himself.
