Guys..Richard Marshall has been trash since the season started. What difference would this make? Nolan Carrol might actually be better.

 

Marshall has allowed a 60QBR this season. Carroll is around 80QBR. I think they've both played reasonably well.

The problem here is Wilson, who has given up a QBR of 137. Thats bad. Not Vontae Davis bad, but still pretty terrible.

 

We are so deep in talent that we will not feel this...

Maybe, it's time to go old school and have Bess play both offense and defense. He can play the slot on offense and cover the slot on defense. ;)

 

What games are you watching?

Richard Marshall being awful and Nolan Carrol being potentially better might be about as far as you can take feelings and emotions-based analysis.

 

The one where Santonio Holmes proved he is the best wide receiver in NFL history.

 

He didn't perform all that well vs. Holmes, but you're pretty wrong if you think it was all Marshall either. Or if on the balance of what Marshall has done on the season, it's "trash".

I do respect your need to express your emotional reaction to what you believe is Richard Marshall in a public forum though.

 

I haven't seen much said about the pick Marshall got by playing very good man coverage.

 

You should have left it right there (what I bolded) instead of disagreeing with me for the sake of it.

Louis Oliver once had three interceptions in one game and one of them went 103 yards for a touchdown, and he did that versus the Dolphins biggest rival at the time (Buffalo) on the road.

Louis Oliver was also the worst coverage Free Safety in Dolphin history.

 

That is not true. Cris Crocker and Cameron Worrell were much worse.

 

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Close. But Oliver couldn't cover lumbering Tight Ends at that time.

 

It would have been better to put out a scare crow instead of Worrell. I have never seen a player so bad at defense.

 

As I recall Randy Moss loved the guy though...

What did Holmes do vs. V. Davis the last time they played against each other?

 

to be fair, the guy was a total special teams player. the roster only listed him as a safety because he had to be given an O or D position.

he only got on the field once all the real safeties were injured, there were no more safeties left in free agency, no-one would trade us for one and none of the bums living in cardboard boxes could sober up enough to find the stadium...

No. I want you to tell me. In fact, I want you to tell me his last 4 games vs. Holmes.

 

he played plenty.

 

And was benched, because he was "moping". Certainly I understand the desire to use such circumstances to levitate Davis' performance, but surely you can't expect anyone to take that example seriously. By all means, Davis isn't a great CB, but I think he's good enough to cover someone who is moping.

 

maybe he was moping because Davis was covering him.

 

About as likely as him moping because he knew Miami was interested in Richard Marshall.

 

How bout compare this ONE GAME vs. Marshall vs. FOUR vs. V. Davis.

Let's go head to head, target for target. Who was better.

I'll let you lump in all four games and count it as one vs. Vontae if you want.

I am just stating the obvious here. This is not some nuanced discussion...
