WOW, this is unbeliveable. I hope he is in shape to go the whole game.
-
Can't exactly figure out why.....but I'm downright giddy about Ricky starting tonight!!
I know that we are going to get killed and that he probably won't do much....but I'm still excited to see #34 starting! -
unbelievable... if Cam starts this piece of crap, I will join the fire Cam cameron bandwagon.. I can hardly believe all the people supporting this dopehead after he screwed you 44 times... unfriggenbelievable. we have men on the roster that have NEVER screwed us and to have this piece of crap get the start before ALL of them is a total disrespect to those who have been here working for half a year.. and when he misses his assignment, like he did on Griese, and Beck goes down for the season I will point fingers and say I told you so.
-
So Marty...
Do you like the idea of him starting..yeah or ney...:tongue2: -
you have to let go of the bitterness toward Ricky bro....most of the team seems to have. think of Ricky of as that screwup friend or family memeber. He's always doing that stupid crap that f***s things up for everybody, but you still can't help but love him!
Right now, I think that most of the fans and most of the team are in a frame of mind that they need to do anything for a win. Anything is better than 0-16, and as disfunctional of a person as Ricky is, he is equally as talented with a football in his hands.
Run Ricky Run!!! -
He is in unbelievable shape and I look foward to seeing him perform. -
Burger.. nice post bro... I don't hate ricky.. I hate the hero worship of the scumbag who has screwed us time and time again.. that he is now on the team only makes perfect sense.. keep him away from NE... "maybe" raise his value, but please, he's not gunna save anyone, he's missed 44 games and is gunna get Beck killed tonight by not knowing his assignments.. funny how it takes all 2000 plus nfl players MONTHS to come up to speed, and y'all think the doper us going to magically be ready for full speed play after three practices...
-
If we are going to trade Rickey, he needs to see some on the field time, Ronnie is injured, Chatman is injured, Cobbs hasn't impressed and LBook is..where ever he is, -
marty, if you were to support firing cam for this move, then also you are supporting him, indirectly. Your reasoning behind hating this move is morally related. Cam being a family and character guy, that puts you in line with his thinking. But at the same time, this seems to be out of character for Cam, therefore he doesn't support himself. And you don't support him NOT supporting himself, which indirectly means you support him, and not his actions. Which means you are pro Cam, and anti Ricky. But you also subliminally know that starting Ricky has it's own bonuses and payoffs.
Just.
Like.
Cam.
Great minds think alike, and for these reasons, I pray that you are the smartest man alive.
If you understood any of that, then perhaps we have a chance. -

ehh i mean im not gonna jump for joy that ricky is starting... but id prefer him to Cobbs i guess, though i would like to see Booker in there a bit... if Chatman is out i have no problem if Ricky starts if hes truly ready... but we'll find out tonight...
all i give a damns about is getting a win and watching Beck and Ginn form a nice bond... -
Ummmm....GO RICKY!!! Yes you've left us. Yes, you are human and have personal problems. But you may have overcome them. And if you haven't, what have we lost by taking you back that we haven't already lost? Nothing. So GO Ricky!!!
And that's all I have to say about that... -
-
-
so are we holding one (possible) missed block against a guy who's played 6 yrs in the league?? Do you have more confidence in Cobbs or Booker to make all the blocks??
-
If it's going to be that sloppy weather-wise, then it makes perfect sense to start Ricky. Because of the conditions, beck will get more time and with a good head of steam Ricky could explode through the line with Polumalu not playing. Our offensive line is not half as bad as they are made out to be. Also because of the conditions, if someone is going to get hurt I would rather Ricky take that hit than someone we know we are keeping for the future.

Man I tell u, I thought I could never forgive Ricky before that 2004 season . . . it was heartbreaking, and we endured the toughest season ever (until maybe this season, but I still think 2004 was worse because that was a team of vets, this is a rebuilding team).
But u can't take away the passion Ricky plays with, when healthy and active, in my mind he is a top 5 RB (used to be, don't know about now). He was becomming a great receiving back and is solid on the pass protection . . . he IMO is a better back than Chatman, Cobbs and Booker and will be an asset for this offense to win games.
If his teammates are willing to accept him back with open arms and compliment his character in the lockeroom . . . we as fans must do the same. -
I have a HUGE newsflash: EVERYONE has missed a block. Good grief. Really, this is petty and ridiculous. I know which block you're talking about and I'm not 100% sure it was soley HIS man. And even if it was, it's senseless to hold something like this over his head. I, you, nor anyone else could name ANYONE who hasn't missed a block. The greatest linemen and backs to ever play the game have missed blocks. It happens. Get over it already. IT isn't like he deliberately missed it even if it WAS his man. Say what you want about his personal life and problems, but there is no way to question his hard work on the field.
But then, you could be on to something. Maybe I should go and make a list of all the people who have missed a block as a Miami Dolphin so I can start hating on them. Nahhh...I don't have a months worth of spare time to make that list. -
cnc66 is right. It amazes me how this guy keeps coming back to our roster. At any other organization, even Detroit, he would have been gone by now.
Now after all those missed games and exactly 100 weeks removed from the NFL, he's starting for us? You've got to be effing kidding me. If Beck goes down with an injury because Ricky continuously misses his assignments, this will all be Cameron's fault. -
They said the same thing this morning, instead of saying played 12 games in almost 4 years, or not playing in almost 2 years.
He played CFL just last year, and he is in amazing shape . . . of course its not the same, but if anybody can do it, I think Ricky could.
Ricky doesn't "continuously" miss assignments . . . tho I can understand the concern with this being a new scheme . . . I guess we will see tonight. -
When has Ricky "continuously" missed assignments?
The reason they keep taking him back is simple. When he is there he gives 120%, he doesn't cause problems in the locker room or on the field (except for opposing defenses) and he is a tremendous athlete. If he had an attitude like TO for example they probably wouldn't have let him back.. but that's not the case. -

hey marty, Im sorry youre soo upset about the start tonite but....I CANT WAIT FOR THE GAME!! YEAH.. I cant wait to see some SERIOUS RUNNING!! he better not let me down, I need some good karma babe..life out here is BORING! Ive missed my football!! And I can see it on REAL tv too!! WOOT!! I'll be in the chat room during the game, and I apologize in advance to all who will be there too, because my one weakness is that I cuss ALOT during games...lol ;-) PS to marty: I still luv ya even tho ur a hothead about Ricky..xo
-
like his own personal roll of toilet paper, and, screwed everyone multiple times. he just comes right in, gives a "Wazzup?!" and he gets the start.
WTF, Over?!
The way I see it; If a five time loser one toke of the sticky icky from getting suspended for life, that he's proven he can't live without is the best RB option on this team? If that's the case, then all the RBs on this team that are active should be released right now, because THAT is outlandish.Last edited: Nov 26, 2007 -
Whenever Ricky WAS here he was always professional
Ricky is playing because we need to do anything we can to get 1 yes 1 win.
0-16 is something that will follow this franchise forever as the 17-0 has. We need that win -
-
but....
ricky will HELP us... He can HELP the TEAM. We may have a good running game already, but Ronnie Brown is on injured reserve, Jesse Chatman is injured, and starting Ricky doesn't seem like such a bad option over Patrick Cobbs right now.
It is obvious that NO ONE can save us. The season is lost. But with the all the RBs being injured, this gives us a risk free oportunity to get Ricky some playing time and a chance to increase his market value. That will HELP our TEAM now, and HELP our TEAM later. What part of that is negative? -
The starting in the NFL is not a reward or an honor. It's about the purest meritocracy there is. Ricky isnt starting because the coach likes him, it is because simply he is the best RB on the roster. When he is right, the guy is arguably a HOF quality RB. The idea that Cameron should be fired for starting him is at very best contrary to the reality of the NFL. You may argue that starting Williams is unreasonable, but the reality is you do not have the information or qualifications to do so

A professional is one that is dedicated to the organization and, betters themselves and the organization they work for, working with others for the common good. A drug addict is not a professional. A drug addict is a selfish A-hole that is only out for thier own ID-based behavior cycle that tends to wind up in a downward spiral that destroys all those who enable thier behavior.
There were too many programs in place that RW could've gone to for help, but, he didn't. he chose to screw the organization and every fan.
And, no, it's not worth 1 win. Not 1, not 5, not 17. Just as I would not have
Alonzo Spellman or Cecil Collins back for any ammount of wins. RW does not
gain moral superiority just because he might have some talent left. -
Hell, at this point in our season I would take Al Capone with a submachine gun if it helps us erase that damn goose egg in the "W" column! -
U can tell by the responses in this thread there are some TRUE dolphin fans in here. I have no problem w/ Ricky comming back, but I can understand the anger that some of the people have at the notion of him comming back. The organization had so much pride and tradition at one time, and many fans feel we are losing all of it because of people/cases like Ricky
One thing is for certain . . . the "fairweather" fans WANT Ricky back big time, they feel like he is this almighty back over a guy like Ronnie, and that he is the BIGGEST reason why we haven't had success. Sounds like nonsense to me, but to each his own.
Whether Ricky is comming back just to keep from paying us that signing bonus or just for financial purposes in general, I guess we will never know. But I can't take away the fact that he is a health freak, a workout warrior, and a classy guy on the field and in the lockerroom . . . and he STILL is apart of this team. We all go thru personal issues in our life, we need to forgive him AGAIN, and get a number other than zero in that win column. -
