18 games is too many and I like 16 games just the way it is

 

No such thing as too much football. :pity:

 

One of the reasons football is the REAL American pastime, is because each team plays once a week. As opposed to what seems like a zillion baseball, basketball, and hockey games. It's been said that absence makes the heart grow fonder.

 

The current proposal for playing 17 or 18 regular season games does not expand the season at all. The extra games will come from the 4 preseason games. Counting those the season is already 20 wks/games long.
The focus is not to extend or expand the season but to improve on the quality of the game. A concept I totally concur with. The NFL leadership knows that the fans just want to see great football. Preseason games do not provide the highest quality product for the fan, and to make it worse most tickets for the preseason games are the same price as the regular season. The players and coaches will still start Training camp at the same time, the draft will be on the same day, the regular season would just start after the second preseason game, giving the fans 2 more "real games" to get excited about.

 

I think if we go to 18 games, then the season needs to be divided into halves, and give everyone a bye between week 9 and 10.

 

i agree, and im glad you can see him in that light.

 

From what i know, i really like ricky williams. I think there is much depth in his character.... would like for him to find that layer of aggressiveness when he use to punish fools in the 4th quarter.
