Where ever Ricky plays he doesn't want to be the feature back he likes being number two on carries so drafting a rb or not shouldnt be the problem the problem will be does the front office think his heart is in it enough because we all know he is still very physical when he truely wants to be.

Where is Rickys mind truely at right now is the problem because who knows.

I disagree. Ronnie is not good, nor is anyone who shares his skillset. IMO w/ Ronnie you're getting a back w/ no vision, who dances in the back field until he sees a hole, then darts toward it w/o the speed necessary to get there before it closes. He doesn't threaten the edges of the defense, nor is he a threat to make a big play once he's into the secondary. Give him a sun pass lane sized hole and he'll still only gain 8-10 yds. If the blocking isn't there, don't hold your breath waiting for him to make something on his own.

Ricky is not a dancer, he has excellent vision and anticipatory skills. But he has no change of direction or explosiveness, and he falls down at the first sign of contact an alarming number of times. Like Ronnie, he's not a threat on the edge or in the secondary. His hands are inconsistent, he's prone to fumbling, especially when his number of carries goes up and his pass blocking is average at best. Brown is bad at creating yds on his own, Ricky is even worse.

Neither guy will be back. The Dolphins would have to put up a billboard to make it any more obvious.

 

His vision is not like that of a Ricky Williams but he does have good vision and especially on the edges. He may not get all the way around the edge very often but scooting down the line while waiting for an opening is his forte so the edge defenders have to stay put or attack him. He does lack the burst of a Ricky so we do see Lb'ers get their hands on him quite often and especially when they have a good angle on him. He is nearly impossible to bring down upon initial contact and for a bruiser, his speed is efficient.

Now IMO, he had a horrible season in 2010. He's also been nothing spectacular thanks to his injuries so it may be time for him to move on unless he comes back at a reasonable rate which I highly doubt.

 

If we are picking between the two r's at this point in their careers I would have to go for Ronnie. Much as I love Ricky.

This whole you have to have two different type backs theory is just BS IMO. If you have a guy who can get 4-5 yds average a touch, and another guy who can do the same thing, consistently, w/out turnovers, and picking up blitzes, I could care less what size they are or if they are change of pace backs or WTF ever adjectives you want to use.

If its getting the job done, I'm good.

 

Anyone else expecting Ricky's name to be one on the list of failed drug tests when the league resumes business? Ronnie's got his DUI case in Marietta Ga. coming up. Time to cut bait on both as they have had their time here, sorry but it is what it is.
