Just heard on the news that actor Paul Newman is dead at 83. Sad to see, I loved him in most everything he did, particularly Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. My thoughts to out to the Newman family.
The guy was a talent and a complete stud. I mean in just one example, who can see themselves racing cars in their 70's? The avg. Century Villiager here in FL. is incapable of driving over 25 mph without driving right off the road. RIP P. Newman.
Newman was special. Stayed married to the same girl, got famous, made movies and raced cars. And it seems he never lost perspective. RIP
Can't forget the entire line of natural food products he started on a whim with all profits going to charity which turned into a massive success as well. The man accomplished quite a bit.
Sad day for Hollywood, and for those of us who believe in liberal politics. He was a great champion of freedom of thought, pro-choice, gay rights and other forward thinking politics. His charitable efforts are legendary. RIP Mr Newman.
I knew he had been ill for a long time. I hate to hear this, he was a special man. My prayers go out to his family and friends.
I watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid this morning, then turned the channel to the Hurricanes game and saw the news that he had died. WEIRD.
I know that I PERSONALLY am a better person having experienced his talents...and they werent just acting. An incredible human being. Not enough like him around! Thank you Mr Newman, and RIP.
Loved Paul Newman. Just watched The Hustler the other day and Butch Cassidy is one of my favorites. He'll definitely be missed, RIP.
He had everything.Good actor, good looking and a good person. He didnt fall victim to the temptations that Hollywood stars usually do....an unusual trait for high profile actors. His best roles were Cool hand Luke and Cat on a hot tin roof IMO but it was fun to watch him as Butch Cassidy too
Cool Hand Luke will always be one of my top favorite films of all time. RIP, an amazing actor who bridged the generation gap easily with outstanding performances.
From the Hustler, to Cool Hand Luke, to Nobody's Fool, he's always been an acting hero of mine. From being married to the same woman for his adult life, to dealing with his son's death, to starting one of the most successful charities, to not only using the profits from his charity but to make sure he only bought from worker owned farms, like for his coffee, he's always been a personal hero of mine. The world lost a great one today.
Paul Newman is an icon. Cool Hand Luke is one of my favorite films, if nothing more than for his defiance of authority and the way he stood his ground and was respected for doing it. An amazing humanitarian and talented actor. He got his first big role in 'The Battler' because the lead actor was killed. That guy was, guess who? James Dean. Over the last few years he's sponsored Cancer camps for children in America and in Europe, and his Newman's Own company has donated over 175 million to various charities. I love the fact that he made Nixon's 'enemies' list in the early 70's, and that he was very proud of it. Such a talented guy that's done so much for so many people. Thanks for everything you did Paul, and to quote Robert Redford from earlier today, "My life-and this country's, is better off for you being in it."
It happens with age man. But people are lost and others are left around to tell their story. And thankfully guys like Paul Newman are permanently appreciated with movies for generations to see.
I always liked Paul Newman, to me he was a better actor when he got older and he was a very charitable man.
Loved all of his movies. Absence of Malice was a brilliant performance. An exceptional man that made the world brighter for us. RIP Paul.
