Rookie cornerback Nolan Carroll is being held out of Wednesday’s practice because of a left ankle injury he suffered on the first kickoff of last Sunday’s 23-22 loss to the Steelers.
Also held out of Wednesday’s practice is rookie safety Reshad Jones, who has a compression sleeve on his left leg. Jones hasn’t played at all in the Dolphins’ base defense, but he was becoming one of the team’s better special teams contributors. This season he’s made two special teams tackles and recovered a fumble against the Steelers.
To made room for Oglesby’s addition to the 53-man roster the Dolphins released rookie defensive end Rob Rose, one of the four players they poached off the waiver wire when teams were composing their 53-man rosters in September.
