If Rodgers wouldn't really miss Philbin, the statement wouldn't look like that. One of the things I like best about Rodgers is that he has a solid head on his shoulders. He knows he doesn't have to go to the point of effusive praise to give the reporters the reaction they're looking for. Something like "Joe Philbin was a fine offensive coordinator, and it will be a challenge to replace him" would suffice. I'd note that it says nothing that Rodgers says these things. Philbin wasn't the head coach in Green Bay, and we have seen plenty of examples in Miami and in the NFL of good coordinators who become crappy head coaches. That said, no amount of hashing it out now will tell us if this was a good or bad hire. We have to see how things turn out. No sense in bickering too much back and forth about what we can't change and further don't know how it will turn out.
You hear any Jets players saying that about the loss of Brian Shottenheimer ? I don't think you would hear any Bronco's players saying much like that if they lose McCoy either. Maybe Tebow but he wuold not say anything bad about anyone. I for one, am sold solid on this guy. Never was a punk *** Fisher fan and never will be.
