    Good for you!

In other words I'm scared and don't want to put myself thru another rape just to get this guy!

It also appears that the term "gold digger" is a non issue in this case.

I wouldnt say he "lucked out," and they can still press a civil damage suit. I thought this one sounded rather flimsy, but still, Ben needs to stop putting himself in these situations. Even though no charges were brought he will likely face a suspension and imo rightfully so. Just a 2-4 game one, but hopefully it gets the message across to him.

I've seen a couple of studies that found that 50% of sexual assault allegations end up being false. Their standard for "false" was only cases where the victim later admitted that she was not raped. It did not include cases like Ben's where the charges were dropped or cases with an acquittal unless the victim later said there was no rape.

In the Ben cases, I thought the one at Lake Tahoe sounded sketchy as she was happily emailing friends right afterwards. That sounds like a case of buyer's remorse. The one in Georgia sounds more legit but there is the question of how reliable can the only witness be when she was by all accounts very intoxicated.

what I don't get. Is that he wasn't convicted, he wasnt even tried and let go on a technicality. he wasn't even indicted. But Goodell has yet to decide what punishment to dole out, if any.

Say what? Punishment? It would be a huge display of power if Goodell came with something on this

Yes he was, its called the court of public opinion and the charge? Why Stupidy in the proper use of one's lower brain stem and money.

You're a lawyer, tell me, if you or someone you knew was put in the same position and it hit the front page just what would be the outcome?

I was on a local TV station once talking about smoking and came very close to losing my job over it. I can't imagine the storm something like this would have caused, true or not!

At the very least Ben has made a couple of VERY Stoopid moves which reflect badly on the NFL and the Steeler team. While it is very easy for some young studs here to flip it off as another Gold Digger, whore, or other sexist remark; once out of college and in the business world one is normally expected to have something else between his ears other than space because his brain is still between his legs. Plus the BS remark of "I don't pay for it" is even more juvenile considering the money Ben makes and the position he holds in his community because of the job he has!

In point of fact I see no difference between him and Marshall other that he is white and Marshall is black, he is with the steelers and Marshall is with Miami.

IMVHO the Commish and Rooney both have much to be displeased about given the fact that Ben is supposed to be a poster boy rather than rolling in the mud. As some would say "Its business" so don't take it personal and don't get caught again, EVER!

What do you mean by this? I sure hope you are not implying piling a underage girl with shots and then taking advantage of her when she says no is ok?

And I think there is a very good chance they will try to move him, it's just a matter what they get in return making it worthwhile.

I think if someone called up, say the Rams and offered the #1 overall they'd do in a heartbeat but its tough to trade a guy like Ben especially when his stock is so low. He's more valuable to them than what they could get for him right now. Honestly though he's a bad night out away from getting a hefty suspension, he's really starting to look like a complete dirt bag. I would have a ton of respect for an owner that traded him though.

If I'm the Rams I'm offering the first overall right now or working out something to get a deal done. Can use the Bears trade of Cutler as a blueprint.

But it wont happen imo unless the Steelers brass is not happy with what Ben has been telling them in private. This incident isn't cool, but it wasn't prosecuted for a reason - sketchy - but you dont really ship out a top QB in his absolute prime. Unless they feel Ben will do this again, they wont trade him. He will get a 2-4 game suspension, and maybe have his contract worked a bit to provide for an incident like this again. But thats gonna be about it.

By show of force I meant from the Steelers front office people. There's no way they can trade Roethlisburger, but they must say something lest they be seen as too soft on criminal behavior.

It's not the tawdriness, hell a bathroom at a night club damn near anything goes, it's the LEO "bodyguards" keeping the door shut, it's the same two not allowing her friends to check on her, it's the shots of premium liquor to a 20yr old, it's the whole situation.

What he did was stupid, and your situation is different. First of all, yes employers can fire you for any reason. But was there a Union? I highly doubt you could be rid of that easily. if there was, then exactly how close were you. No job bank at that place eh? :D

Second of all, the NFL doesn't play by everyone's rules. They have special rules attached to them. What he does is very stupid, but it hasn't risen to the level of any criminal behavior yet. He was never convicted not even indicted. For all we know they had sex and the girl changed her story. That is just as likely as Big Ben forcing himself upon her.

I mean, for godsakes how many games was Belichick suspsended for cheating the very integrity of the NFL?

The Seahawks have two 1st rounds picks.

Big Ben crimes are sex-based and getting increasingly more forceful.

No, you were right the first time. There's nothing linking Roethlisberger's DNA to her. Until there is its just another person targeting a celebrity or athlete.

    check this stuff out:

    per PFT:

And toss in the security camera tape being recorded over, whether Rothleisberger actually raped that young woman or not, we will never know for certain, I will say he should purchase brand new cars for the staff at that club because they damn sure covered his *** more effectively than his 09 offensive line.

And in a way, Rothleisberger maybe slid out of a rape charge (last I checked a intoxicated person could not give consent to engage in sex) but with no resolution one way or another, this falls into the court of public opinion.

Not sure how you got that conclusion. In 2006 (same year as the accident) he had his worst year, yes. But last year and in 2007 he was statistically great. He was pretty darn good in 2008 as well. His 2 best seasons have come since his accident.

My top guesses are Oakland and Buffalo. Cleveland would be third just b/c of the division thing, but I guess it depends on just how peeved Rooney is with Ben. I'm sure he's pretty peeved, but is it enough to send him to a division rival if they have the highest offer or only top 10 offer?

Although I'd have to think that at a minimum Buffalo will offer their first for Ben even with a possible 6 game suspension.
