rolle to get cut this week...per rotoworld and arz website dont have link sorry..its everywhere tho.
Rolle has a strong chance of landing here b/c the team wants playmakers on defense and Rolle scores a TD almost everytime he gets his hands on teh ball (10 ints in 3 yrs).
I really think Miami goes strong for Dansby, coughs up the $$ for him, the $$ for Rolle, and cut Wilson and Porter.
They may even go the cheaper route, trade Crowder or cut him, sign Dansby and pick up a ILB in the 2-4 round to play next to Dansby.

i am all for bringing in Rolle he is a lot better then wilson, Cut Porter and Wilson and use that money to sign Rolle and trade crowder

Knowing that he has openly stated that he wants to be here, I'll be pissed if he ends up elsewhere.
This is the playmaker we desperately need in our secondary.Frumundah Finnatic and HULKFish like this. -
I like Rolle, but he takes a lot of chances.
We'd really have to make sure we had a beast at SS. Not sure that player is on the roster.
Rolle is also delusional if he thinks someone is matching his current contract or better.texanphinatic likes this. -

Rolle is a former CB and therefore I love him for having that experience...he was a top 10 heisman candidate for most of his senior year at the U!!!!
he is a good playmaker and I think would be a great addition to our team
now the big question is
who do we break the bank for...Dansby...Rolle...Wilfork (if available)
all three have shown interest here, only 2 of them have a real shot at being here, but what if all 3 break out, and we just gota show the dough...
1. Wilfork
2. Rolle
3. Dansby
let me explain
first off we can draft a 3-4 ILB in the 1st-2nd round...either McLain or Spikes
Safety...I have my question marks in this draft...
and NT is by far one of the hardest positions to ever fill
if Wilfork comes free and wants us we show him the green
Rolle im pretty sure is gona get his money somewhere and Dansby as well...so we will have to pay up for both...but which one is a better fix for our positions...or which position is easier to fill in the draft??
comments? -
that being said, thats the struggle I have, is if it is Wilfork or Dansby, cuz I'd break the bank for one of those 2....I would say Wilfork...I love Dansby, but if you can get a run stuffer like Wilfork, the whole defense is better for it...
UPDATE.....GUESS MY STRUGGLE IS OVER NOW....I still don't know if giving 30+ million in guaranteed money to Dansby is the smartest move.... -
& just not going to happen w/Crowder
however
to pick up Dansby & Rolle
would be a major leap forward on defense -
Not my money, "but" that looks far to pricey to be sustainable.finyank13 likes this. -

What I would like to see is a couple of lesser starters to be signed, like A Thomas to play the SLB, Kaasim Osgood or David Tyree to bump up the Special Teams a notch.
Smaller meals but still we could use some instant help in those roles. -
I am not sold on Rolle. I was initially, for about 30 minutes until I checked into him somemore. He's really only had 1 good season, since then he has been mediocre at best. He appears to take plays off, there is some video from the Jets playoff game out there where he allows the runningback to run right by him, not once but twice. He doesn't seem to like contact. On top of all that, the guy is a knucklehead, he has several kids and can't seem to make his child support payments. Maybe that doesn't have much to do with playing football, but it goes a long way to character questions. Imagine turning a guy like that loose on South Beach.
Got a feeling we need to stay away from this one. -

Bell still has upsides... He and Rolle would be a VERY nice duo IMHO. Dansby and Wilfork would be a dream!

I guess the term breaking the bank is pretty subjective, but I don't see us breaking the bank for any of those players.
I think the FO is willing to offer fair market value to any player of interest. However to me, breaking the bank involves overpaying, and I just do not see Ireland doing that with any FAs.
Look at Calvin Pace last year. They offered as much as they felt he was worth and wouldn't budge beyond. IMO it'll be the same this year. It's not so much about the absence of a salary cap so much as the presence of a specific model for success. Their model doesn't seem to have room for overpaying players.
Again just my own thoughts; but I think Rolle, Dansby or any others will be here if they want to be. But if they're putting dollars first and foremost, I wouldn't look for them to sign with us. -

If we could pick up Dansby and Rolle too, this D could easily draft our remaining needs and be very tough next season.
-
Just look at how much more of a contribution Davis Thomas had for a team that features a pass catching TE once he went to NO from NE. Watson has the speed to help us if we pick him up. -
Watson has been inconsistent until it was time to play for a paycheck. I would stay away from him personally and try for someone in the draft.

Do it Tuna, Bring the kid home!
-
I would be satisfied with Karlos Dansby in free agency considering our age and weaknesses at linebacker.
-
Im very weary on Rolle. Considering the money he probably wants, I just dont think he is worth it. He had good years in 07 and 09 in terms of interceptions but looking over at profootballfocus.com, he wasn't that good. He was the 67th rated S behind both of our starters. I think the best remedy for this secondary is a consistent pass rush. Re-signing Jason Taylor, drafting a good OLB prospect would go a long way to solving some of the DB problems we have.

This is good news if we're interested. I hope we are because Rolle is solid and fills a major hole in the secondary.

once rolle came out of college I wanted to buy his jersey because I really liked him as a player. somehow I never managed to wear another teams jersey so I never really bought one.
i really hope that the dolphins sign him so I can finally wear his jersey :-) plus we would automaticly erase one huge need
