It's the beauty of being a fan. Fence sitting is our sport. I say pull the trigger simply because he's an upgrade and getting one good LB isn't enough for a 3-4 D. If we ran a 4-3 I'd consider letting him go, drafting Earl Thomas or something, signing Dansby and drafting a LB. Since we're 3-4 we can eliminate safety in FA. Sign Dansby (hopefully), draft Graham or trade down draft Graham lower first round and use the other picks to pick up a DT, TE, LB, young WR. There's also the possibility we could sign Antonio Bryant and keep him healthy. As he won't get a big contract it wouldn't be that bad.

Edit: Oh wait, nvm. Guy wants 8mil a season. I'm not sure if Ross's cap would allow for that if we get a Dansby.

Rolle has actually had very similar production to Nick Collins of Green Bay over the past few years. I wouldn't be against giving him a shot in Miami.

I would love to have him at free safety, but not for 8 Million per. That is more than Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu.

 

Where on those pictures does it prove that he deserves 8 million? Collins is going to make half that in 2010. The guy turned down 6 million a year! I'm gonna have to disagree with ya there.

Edit: Thinking about it it kind of is interesting regarding the timing of is dropping Gibril Wilson, which came totally out of the blue...

Represent an interest in upgrading safety, then drop off your current FS to show a distinct need/desire to buy, and blow up the rumor mill that you're on Rolle. The Giants, if they are seriously interested, would have to go big on him if they think our intent is to try to woo him away.

I mean there was speculation that Parcells wanted to keep his FA strategy VERY close to the vest.
