Text is the hardest thing for me too.

Try using different layer options on text, like overlay, soft light, and then add some opaque strokes, etc. If not opaque enough, duplicate the text layer already on soft light etc, and then play with opacity. So many things you can do.

I stay away from the patterns and bevel and emboss options (unless you really know how to use them for metallic text appeals) because it tends to look a little.......cheap.....sorry. :)

Looks good. Personally I'd remove the gradient you have on the right. If you think something needs to be there, you could try to mess with the dolphins logo, maybe have your text run into it around that area.
