http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/news/top_story.asp?contentID=5804 Toribio was recruited by Carson-Newman out of Miami Central High and holds no grudges against the University of Miami or any of the Division I schools in the state for not going after him. As a senior for the Eagles, he had 24.5 tackles (11.5 for losses) and 5.5 sacks despite facing double teams most of the time. Kory Robertson was the only other true nose tackle that participated in the mini-camp, but Toribio caught the eye of Sparano and Executive Vice President of Football Operations Bill Parcells right away. In fact, it was Parcells who talked to him and let him know he was being offered a contract, saying it was his hustle and his conditioning that really got him on the team.
