Well, if their buying enough to not have blackouts, sure, but thank you's in general should go both ways, the point I was trying to make is the patience he has shown while the fanbase was angry was pretty cool.

I would hope from what we saw of that defense fans would love to go to the stadium to see that swarming school of Phins..that's how you get a stadium alive...defense baby..

I don't get it. If you put on a circus and you sell tickets to it, you don't stand in the middle of the ring and wait for everyone to thank you for the privilege of allowing them to buy tickets to see your show. Just the opposite. You thank everyone for their patronage.

I think DJ is suggesting we thank Ross for taking advantage of the 85% blackout rule, which means that no games will be blacked out.

At least that's what the article is mainly about

I could be wrong... but I believe he is saying we should be thankful to Ross for buying up the extra tickets over the past year or 2 to make sure that none of the games are blacked out locally. Fans havent been buying enough tickets to assure no blackout.

Other owners arent doing the same thing, such as Buffalo and San Diego. Instead they're just blacking out games and not even taking advantage of the 85% rule.

Our owner is treating us better than some others treat their fans...

Well this year my family and I moved back to Florida and my dad got season tickets for him and me when I go down from Orlando. We are part of the new group and excited as ever to go watch some Phins football

If that's what DJ is saying then I stand corrected but I was pretty sure he was communicating that we ought to give Steve Ross a hand for the fact that season ticket sales have picked up so much.

Personally I think it is the individuals who purchase season tickets and individual game tickets, who deserve a thank you from those who would rather sit at home and not spend the money to attend games.

As a long time season ticket holder, I have always been opposed to the owner or anyone else stepping in and buying up tickets to ensure the game is on TV in South Florida. The is actually a slap in the face to those of us who actually buy tickets and go to the games. Perhaps if Ross would stop the practice of buying unsold tickets, the stands would actually be filled during games. Giving the product away for free to those who won't buy tickets just makes no sense to me.

Ross certainly should be thanking the fans for using their hard earned money towards the Miami Dolphins. But the fans should be thanking Ross for giving them a product that is worthy of buying a ticket for, at least for the immediate future. Anybody who sells a product should thank the customers who buy it. But the customers are also thankful for products that are worth buying.

Well, I am part of a group of 19 (four families) coming down for the 11/17 Chargers game. We were even able to get group pricing in the lower level, near the endzone. It's my third time down there, but it'll be the first for several in my group. So that helps - for a game that will likely be relatively tough to sell out compared to the rest of the schedule ..... you're welcome! :lol:

As a non SoFloridian, I would thank Ross for at least getting fans over the would-be black-outs at a time when tix sales were/are tough. To keep the interest going for the casual fan, or the jaded fan who gave up their tickets, but might come back when the time is right. Hopefully, the team will give you all who live down there the reason to put up your hard-earned dough on the team soon!

Amen to that. My Navy assignment travels ended me up in San Antonio, so I took a no-brainer job offer here and chose to stay...don't really have roots anywhere anyway. But there was a time I was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, when Dan played his last game, and I was deployed all the time so I couldn't get to any games in Miami (not to mention I was pretty junior and broke at the time haha!). I wish I lived out there...you wouldn't be able to KEEP me away from the stadium. I have a lot of respect for those dedicated fans that weather the bad as well as enjoy the good...hats off to ya'll!

Edit: If we host a playoff game this year, I'll be making a trip.

The thanks was for buying tickets while we rebuild this culture..I think it's a pretty awesome move considering how bad the numbers really are, especially relative to our stadium and it's capacity.

The season ticket increase is just pure excitement from my standpoint..

The underlining tone is that we have an owner who didn't panic, who's taken unnecessary heat, and is constantly trying to do the right thing for our franchise.
