It doesn't bother me either way. I know a lot of people really like the feature so it probably should stay. It just seems to me that everytime someone gives a 1 star rating, everyone demands to know why. Yet know one demands an explanation as to why someone gave it 5 stars.

I guess it proves that when it comes to reviews, you only remember the bad ones. :hi5:

I'd be pretty disappointed if this deal comes down as laid out. Ginn is just scratching the surface of his potential, IMO. As an OSU fan, he was so exciting anytime he touched the ball with the potential to go the distance. Without him on the roster, Miami really has no home run threat on offense.

If you break it down, this really comes down to JT for Ellis, (Dallas wins) and Ginn for Carpenter and Williams. (Dallas wins) I had heard rumors that Dallas was actually considering cutting Wiliams anyway, since he looks lost in Wade's defense.

So, what does that make this deal? JT for Ellis and Ginn for Carpenter. No thanks.

Think of it this way guys, we are slowly trading away the players that got us to 1-15 for players that got to the playoffs last year. Perhaps Parcells is more of a genius than we previously thought?

i think bp is far from dumb, and I'm pretty sure he is intelligent at least when it comes to football in the nfl, I also just think he receives waaaaay more credit then he should sometimes.

People question why my threads get 5 stars (by that I mean one time I started a thread that got 5 and people were mad because all it involved was me meeting Jason Allen, and by people I mean Lucky)

Including a highly drafted rookie into that assessment dosen't make sense.
Those players are the keystone to reviving a franchise.
I highly doubt that the Parcells crew would give up so early on Ginn without giving him a chance to develop.

Secondly, just because a player is part of a team that makes the playoffs in no way means those players are good.

I don't really subscribe to the view you presented at all.

All receivers should show an ability to get open.

Brady Quinn is a possible franchise Quarterback. Ted Ginn Jr.? No way will he ever be a number one. He's a double threat at receiver and in the returning game, but a Number one receiver? I don't think you pass up the chance at a possible franchsie QB for a WR/KR who doesn't have the makings of a #1 receiver.

And sure like2god, Steve Smith is a rare form, but like I said, he's rare. Do you think Ted Ginn Jr. is the second coming of him? I honestly don't. His hands arn't as good as Smith and frankly Smith is tougher, also facing double and triple teams and still getting it done.

Were are all the Dolphins fans who hated this pick last year?

    Time will tell.

Here's how much Cleveland believes in Brady Quinn. They paid Derek Anderson millions and paid him quickly, before someone else could sign him to a tender where Cleveland would have gotten a 1st and a 3rd in return.

That signing has nothing to do with Quinn, he was the highest percentage wise, accurate QB last yr, and helped them get one game away from the playoffs. No team in their right minds would trade a QB away after a season like that. Fluke or not you ride it as long as you can. Quinn is insurance for now.

I think we've all learned by now that assessing draft picks on their rookie campaign performances is about as flawed an assessment as you can make.

Whether he was deserving of his draft spot or not simply cannot be assessed at this time.
He played like a rookie that needs development.

I agree 100%. IMHO, we should be spending less time criticizing a Dolphins fan and member for bringing us a thought that was clearly indicated as just a rumor and more time criticizing Jets fans that have an unhealthy obsession critiquing Dolphin players that they clearly know very little about.

This is no different then when San Diego signe dBrees again after drafting Rivers. What happened in the end? Rivers wound up the starting QB in San diego. Quinn will get there and the Quinn lovers will be around to rub it in everyone's faces.

Not all rookies play like they need development like Ginn did as a WR.

Ginn as a returner does not need development.

Ginn as a WR is nothing more than a project at this point, IMO.

But I still feel he can be an elite returner in this league.

I respectfully disagree. Ginn progressed as well as any rookie WR could ever be expected on a bad team. He got better every game. He had some great grabs, and showed flashes of the talent we all know he is capable of.

It wasn't out of the question though.

They'd have been crazy to let Anderson get away IMO, as I think he's the real deal. But Savage admitted later that he feared Dallas would sign Anderson and then trade him to Miami for a deal involved the #1 pick (so they could get McFadden). There was some talk of it. And then Miami stopped taking Savage's calls about Anderson.

He said that's why he ultimately got the deal done, quickly, with Anderson.

not sure if mentioned, apologies if it was, trading Ginn would cost a boat load of cap money... a top 10 pick in only his second year still has a bunch of unamortized bonus left, trade him and I don't believe we could fit the move under our cap. I don't doubt that Dallas and Miami are talking trade however, just not Ginn...

Hey, they're football fans too. And they've been respectful and supportive of our site. :)

I think sometimes they offer a unique point of view, in that they see things from the outside rather than thru our optimistic eyes. Just as we see their team the same way.

Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong. But so is life and football forums. ;)

All receivers don't show that ability though.

See thats what gets me bro, you make one judgement on ginn after one season. But then you say quinn is still a possible franchise qb. Can't both be possibly great at their respective positions given they have both only played for one season. That sentiment makes no sense to me bro.

Don't know, I for one liked the pick and still do.

Very good point. That said, the contract might not necessarily be prohibitive.

If I'm calculating Clumpy's '08 and '09 numbers correctly, a trade would result in a $7.69 million net hit. Since it's after June 1, we can split that over two seasons ($3.85 million each).

Jason Taylor, however, would save $3.47 million if we took the his hit this year, and $8.5 million next year.

Or if you can actually split savings into two years, $5.48 million this year (there's another $500K bonus that I'm unsure of) and $6.48 million next year.

We've still got a lot of cap room IIRC. So I believe it is possible.

Hope this doesn't go down. I want those players but I don't want to give up Ginn. Can we just give them Hagan lol? Maybe TO can help him learn how to drop passes in a better fashion.
