Per Rotoworld:
Good thing we have Dobbins.

Uuuuuuggghhh.

Damn! Sure glad we got Dobbins is right! Will be interesting to see who of our DP's is moved inside to backup Dansby & Dobbins.
-
-
If true he's done as a Dolphin. The FO must have known this was a possibility with the trade for Dobbins and drafting Edds.
-
Hahahahahahahaha!
Crowder is done in Miami.
Now we have a chance to make some plays at the ILB spot.
Dobbins was brought here for a reason. To start! -
I don't know why you're laughing. This a loss for our defense.

Wtf!

Why on earth would anyone laugh at someone getting hurt? This is pathetic.dolfan32323, dolfan7171, dolphindebby and 16 others like this. -
How'd he hurt his foot?

Dobbins and Edds now have more opportunity, I have to think Channing's Lis Francs was more serious than we were led to believe, and he probably had a setback..which is really easy to do with a foot injury.BuckeyeKing, DOLPHAN1, adamprez2003 and 3 others like this. -
Which means he starts back over on a 6-9 month rehab -
Not the news I want to hear. I agree there is nothing funny about Crowder getting injured. Our defense is going to suffer without Crowder whether you believe it or not. Like as said Crowder is not a Thomas caliber player but he was still effective and plays and important role. Many times when he was out with injury the past 2 years in those games you could tell there was a hole in the defense. Hopefully now Dobbins or Edds can step in and fill the void.

Wow that sucks you never want to see a guy get hurt like that.
-
-
I'm laughing at the Dolphin fans who think he makes a difference.
I always thought Crowder is a liability so I am celebrating his absence which I hope is forever with the Dolphins. -
As for out on the field, this reduces the non Irish players to:
YBell
JAllen
WAllen
Vern Carey
Brandon Fields
John Denny
Ronnie B
RW
Q
And now Dobbins being signed to a extension makes more sense, and that was maybe a month ago. -
Now lets watch Dobbins fill it
Crowder is a loud mouth below average LB.
I won't miss him.
I'd bet the Dolphins won't either. -
I feel sorry for the guy but this doesn't really bother me that much from a strength of the defense point of view. I just don't think they'll have that hard a time finding somebody to match his production. I might be wrong, we'll see. If there is something that he did exceptionally well, somebody please enlighten me. I know we missed him when he was out but that's probably as big an indictment of the lack of depth at LB as anything. I imagine this means he won't be back in Miami.
I hope Ronnie Brown doesn't have similar setbacks. -
I'm not so worried about this with Dobbins signed, but once again our MLB depth is stretched thin. Also, I'm only seeing this on the newswire via PFT, so I don't know how reliable it is.

Well, if he is in fact hurt, its unfortunate, but it makes our trade back in the first round an even better decision.

The thread title has been changed until we get further confirmation.

Call me crazy..but couldn't have it been a OLD wire item running at the bottom of a replay game from last year? Can anyone check if he hurt his foot the same week as the week of the game they are showing on NFL Network? I bet it is

Great news. Hilarious error.

Rotoworld has removed the story now.

Crowder isn't injured
Oh well back to mediocrity
This blunder is fuggin' hilarious
What a fool. -
Those Starts are Incorrect...Why do they Post them, they think we are clueless???
I hate it when people give out the WRONG STATS...
Those he missed were in 2009, NY JETS, NE, and PIT...
The stats were...
Against the Jets... 3.2 Yards per Rush... 40 attempts...127 Rushing yards...
Against NE... 4.5 Yards per Rush... 24 attempts... 109 Rushing yards...
Against Pit... 5.6 Yards per Rush... 36 attempts... 202 Rushing yards...
You average these 3 games out and it comes out to...
4.4 Yards per Rush... 146 yards per game... and this Pit game is an outlier, the Defense gave up on that game...
I like Channing, think he is an average LB, that can make a big play here or there... the problem is that he overthinks his position and tries to be all over the field instead of reading his keys and staying on his assignmnets...
With a better talented compiment around him this year he should play to a level that we saw him play in 2008...
Here is hoping he is alrright and ready to contribute... -

UPDATE: This report was a mistake, the result of an NFL Network crawl from 2009 running on a re-aired game today. Channing Crowder is not out for 2010. We apologize for the error.
Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder's is reportedly over before it ever got started.

He also missed the KC game last year.
the numbers are not kind to your argument. -
For pete's sake, if one more person quotes those nonsensical stats about run defense with, and without crowder I'm reaching for the LOL kitties.
Crowder has as much to do with effective run defense as I do with the heat signing Lebron.
See those red, god awful pff grades? they are from 09 and the games were:
Indy
NO
#2nd Bills game
#2nd New England game
All losses
See the green "good" grades?
SD
Carolina
Jax
TN
We play playoff teams caliber teams, Channing is exposed as the mediocre to bad player he can be and is, against poor or .500 type teams, gosh, Channing is average or a tiny bit above the baseline.
