Chris K. (With an initial tweet from Omar) had a short thread on what it takes to run an RPO Offense.
Worth a discussion, especially as to how the Dolphins build the O in FA and the draft.

Im a big believer that if you build a dominant enough OL, you can plug and play a lot of RB’s and have them be successful. I just don’t value the position enough to spend big money on FA or a first round draft pick. Especially when so many good RB’s have come and gone that were taken in rounds 2-4.Last edited: Mar 13, 2021 -
By the way, do you know who else wants Harris in the 1st? Tua. He's been singing his praises for a month now and we coached Harris at the all star game, giving us an incredibly valuable in-depth scouting session that other teams didn't/won't get. I have a feeling he's pegged on our radar and he's going to be a Dolphin. To be honest, I wouldn't be shocked to see us have an all-Alabama 1st round. -
Harris is definitely on the radar.
Did you mean to say you ARE a big believer in the OL being dominant enough for plug and play? I don't disagree that OL is very important, but I think you need a good back as well.
My problem is that last year we passed on the better free agents, we undervalued the position the draft and then tried to get by with cheap veterans. It was an unmitigated disaster. Better line play will help, but I'd like to see us have a dude who can break big plays, get first downs, be a receiving threat and put the ball in the end zone. Rolling into the year with James Connor and Myles Gaskin is simply not acceptable. We either pay for an Aaron Jones, or we ensure we get one of the top guys in the draft.resnor, M1NDCRlME, KeyFin and 1 other person like this. -
We need a bigger back so I would put both Harris and Williams in the draft category we need to compliment Gaskins/Ahmed. Williams with his tackle breaking ability, youth and low mileage is who I would target first.

Based on last years methods in the draft and the successful season that followed; specifically due to how we handled the draft and free agency, I see the Front Office treating this Draft and free agency the same way this year. Even then we will probably have a few holes left to fill, but nothing like last year. I believe we will make the playoffs this year and that will be entirely due to how we have drafted and used free agency since Grier has been fully in charge!
This does not even touch on the excellent control we have established and are maintaining under the current cap.
