Yeah, but then again he compared Keenan Allen to AJ Green. I could more easily live with the Patterson/Jones comparison, which I think is more accurate in terms of physical talent than receiving ability. I like Patterson, but he still gives me pause for concern, has a lot to prove. The reverses and kick returns are nice, but I would have liked to see more of a body of work at WR.

I think Julio Jones is his upside. He's not there yet, and that's what makes him a risky pick. He could be Julio Jones, but just another athletically talented receiver that doesn't make it in the NFL because he lacks the technical qualities of the position.

The receiver position is tough to figure out for the Dolphins. It seems like they really want to resign Hartline which is a move I don't really like. The smart move in my opinion is to try to get Mike Wallace and Greg Jennings. It is certainly not the cheap route but it is affordable given their cap situation and it's a bold move to make them an instant threat in the AFC. There is also the draft where Tavon Austin, Keenan Allen, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Tyler Eifert will be staring the Dolphins in the face at 12.

The Dolphins need to revamp their entire receiver core and to me that means Davone Bess, Armon Binns, Rishard Matthews, etc can all go.

Now a cool scenario would be for the Dolphins to extend Hartline, sign Jennings, and draft Tavon Austin. That would be a nice receiving core for Tannehill....

I'd much rather give Brian Hartline around $30 million over 6 years than give Mike Wallace $50 million over 5. Mike Wallace is such a poor fit for the offense Miami runs, that he will never live up to his pay if he is paid that much in Miami. Mike Wallace is little more than a vertical threat, and there are simply not a lot of vertical routes run in this offensive style. Most of the routes are going to be timing routes in the 1-10 yard range, and probably around 85% of all the routes will be less than 20 yards.

Hard to find too much fault in Russ Lande's logic on this. My last mock 11 was very similar.

I will say this...the idea of the Tennessee Titans taking Dee Milliner so that they can move Jason McCourty (who just signed a $7.4 million per year contract) back to nickel corner is absurd. I think perhaps Lande meant to say they would take Milliner so that they could move VERNER back to nickel corner, because he was the nickel corner back when McCourty and Finnegan were both there.

Hard to imagine Damontre Moore, DE A&M not going in the first round. I'd take him at #12 (depending on who else is there).

Also, would be surprised to see a WR go in the top 10 though I guess that's possible.

I would rather trade down before drafting a WR at #12. Or draft Warmack if he is there.

It's hard to imagine right now, because he's got so much public acclaim. But if nobody had heard of him and people just started circulating tape on him, having him not go in the 1st round in your mock drafts wouldn't look out of place.

TBH, I'd be disappointed if we used one of our 2nds on Moore.

I don't see a Patterson-Jones comparison. His ex Vols teammate, Da'Rick Rogers, is more like Julio IMO.
