for wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much money IMO...... http://twitter.com/#!/JoeB_WGR/statuses/129969292992200704
just my opinion.....while good I dont think he is worthy of that dollar figure, especially the guaranteed figure... Consider Cam Newton just signed a 22M guaranteed contract as well...so Fitz is more valuable then the #1 overall?
While I like Fitzpatrick and his success story in Buffalo... that is too much money. Even if he is the bearded Drew Brees.
You guys keep forgetting with a rookie salary cap the money has to go somewhere. For a QB who is having a fine year and getting better every year, it's not that obscene.
If anything, I think a problem may be his age, is his contract back-loaded? If it is you guys may end up overpaying a guy who could be on the decline.
I like Fitz and think he is good, but the long term solution and bonfide franchise quarterback...I would be worried as a Bills fan... It has nothing about what my team has, it is about looking at a team and what they got....
Like I said bonehead, just look at it outside the box, he is good sure, but is he franchise? long term good? or is he Kyle Ortin good? An again I like Fitz....
He's right, there are some concerns if you are a Bills fan. It doesn't mean Fitzpatrick is going to be a failure, but there are concerns. Taking a shot at the Dolphins whilst people try to have a normal discussion with you is lame.
I threw him the ole bait, and he snagged it hook, line, and sinker.....works everytime.... I am good at this.......he isnt...
Reading back on this thread from my OP to now....there is so much win in it..... You can put this under the "ya think?!" category
If the owner had any sense at all, he'd fire Nix after the season. A GM can't commit to paying a guy that much money and then the following year come back and say oops and continue to be employed by that team.
WC is terrible at predictions. I'm still waiting for that 40 burger he promised in 2010 when Trent Edwards was still their QB.
FWIW, I think the Bills flat out panic-ed as a an organization. Now what, they are going with Barkley? A pop gunned arm Qb in Buffalo? They should have just stuck with Fitz and rode the season out, they now are a sort of Marlins of the NFL, schizoid, pay $$$ one year, have a Qb in place, now they lost their best OLmen and starting Qb and Lb and SS and this is before the season begins. With no one to replace them, now they probably have to reach for a Qb and may have to trade up even to take Geno Smith.
