How on Earth did you end up spending 500 bucks on a 360? Most people say they got it b/c it was cheaper.

 

Tax my friend. CA charges 8.25% sales tax bringing a $450 X-Box 360 Elite to almost $500. If I bought a PS3 (~$499, it would've been ~$550)

XBOX Elite is $449, which is $50 more than the 40 gig PS3 and $50 less than the 80 gig ps3. Add a $100 wireless adapter to your XBOX (Which is built in to the PS3) and that price difference goes byebye. For the other cheaper models of the 360 you need to buy an adapter if you want HDMI support for true digital HD quality (another $90). In order to play online you need to pay another $50 dollars that is good for a year. In order to enjoy High definition movies you need to buy a separate HD-DVD player for $180.

PS3 will probably be the winner of the 3 as time goes on. If I recall though Microsoft has already begun work on a new console. Or atleast concept of what it is.

all 360's have hdmi now, and the elite also has a 120gb HDD
