What I found equally encouraging was that it was not just him that responded that way. The offense rallied around him and they were fighting for inches. Pitt defense smacked them in the chops and they smacked back. They played like a team that was motivated to win. Obviously I am happy we won but even if they had lost today I would of still felt encouraged by their performance today.
Drew Brees never showed anything until after about 30 starts. The Chargers drafted his replacement, then Brees started to play well and play consistently. He doesn't really fit this type of argument, IMO. He was neither good nor consistent early in his career.
So is this true?: Tannehill ranks 31st or 32nd in play action pass attempts, yet his rating on play action passes is over 100... Really Sherman? He should be doing twice the play action passes!
