I think the logo change probably had more to do with it than anything else

 

I was shocked when I saw that too. I'm sure the logo and uniform switch played a part, but still, way to go! Shows the Fins can be popular when we have a decent offensive player to rally around.

 

Right thats why Cam Wake, Mike Wallace and Brian Hartlines are top 10 also............oh wait.....

 

I always find jersey sales to be such a strange statistic. I'm never really sure what sales numbers are supposed to imply about the player.

In my opinion the largest factor in this boost is simply the result of Dolphins fans saying to themselves "Well, they're clearly going to be keeping Tannehill on the team for a long time, so he's a safe bet to spend $200 on." It's simply been a while since the franchise had a face, outside of the Kraken, so I think people are just striking while the iron is hot.

 

It seems there's no bit of positive info, no matter how insignificant, that you won't find a way to **** on.....

What was Tanny last year?

7 of the top 10 are QBs.

We changed logos and our QB got into the top 10. It's not all that surprising.

 

And out of 32 QBs, hes one of the top 10 in sales. Its not ALL the logo. You're such a negative nancy.

 

I said nothing negative about Tannehill or the people buying his jersey.

If he's top 10 again next year, then yes, we can say that he has reached some level of surprising popularity

 

Aside from the locals, this team has a big national fan base.

I'm pretty sure Tannehill was surprisingly high in jersey sales last year, too, for a rookie QB on a mediocre team. I'm not going to look it up, but I do recall posts here at the site on jersey sales and Tannehill.

 

It's not that your wrong, it's that some of us don't naturally hate everything in life and just want to be fans of this football team and its players. I like Ryan tannehill. I'm happy for him and this team to have one of the top selling jerseys. Your point may be valid but we have soooo many of you negative nancies that its just overwhelming these days. I travelled from England to see the chargers & panthers game and got my tannehill jersey, big international fan base and the QB is always the best well known player

Yeah, it seems like I was wrong about last year. This article was jersey sales going into training camp this year, I believe, and he was around # 7 on this list. That's probably the time frame I'm remembering rather than last year. This article says Tannehill wasn't in the Top 25 in 2012. After Free Agency and the Mike Wallace deal, it looks like Tannehill jersey sales spiked.

I was at the pittsburgh game this year. Father in law is a huge steelers fan and he couldn't believe our presence at heinz field

i bought a new logo authentic Tannehill right before we lost to buffalo and NYJ. I'm cursed. Sorry fellas

 

It's interesting to say the least. Almost insignificant, but interesting. Of the 10 all are media darlings except Tannehill.

 

Possibly the same things you guys were thinking when Henne was the "franchise savior".
