The players left from the 2008-09 drafts are dwindling. Only ones currently on team: Bess (08 UDFA), Hartline (09 4th rd), Clemons (09, 5th) -

I wonder if some $$ was on the table for him, Keller signs now or they breech the gap w/ Long if isn't a Ram already.

going from brady to peyton twice a year...nice

Don't really feel bad about losing Smith.

Brent Grimes still on the board as well. He may be getting to the point where he has to take a 1 year, "prove it" deal, which I'd be all over.

He will be the most targeted in that secondary as well. Between him and Dunta they will combine for the most missed tackles in the league.
And we see how well Andy Ried did with talented secondaries in Philly. Haha -
Which is what I said from day 1. Grimes needs to be our #1 on a 1 year deal.

Per Breer, Smith deal is 3 for $18, $11 million guaranteed.
I probably would have matched that deal. Pretty reasonable.Bpk likes this. -

3yr 18 mil. This is a bad blow for us imo. A big, young, healthy, starting caliber CB at that price? Bad job and we are worse for it.

I mentioned Grimes earlier, but over the enxtd ay or two several of these corners are going to have to start looking at modest 1-2 year deals.
I would love to get Grimes and Talib, or Munnerlyn on 1 year deals, draft two corners and see what happens -

Soft player, over confident, glad he departed. -
I don't really agree that the CB situation is dire, or that they need to bring in multiple guys. Its very likely they bring in one CB and go with what they have. When you consider the WRs in the division, I can see why they wouldn't put a premium on the position right now.
