Well... I was in nerd world looking for Fable 2 and saw that Saints Row 2 leaked. I'm not sure of the street release date, but I'm on this. Any other Saints fans out there on this?
Definitely looking forward to playing this one. I only played the first one a few times. 2 looks pretty good. Keep us updated! Street Date is Oct. 14th
eh, I'm not too big into the sandbox games. I get bored too easily if I have to think too much about what to do, haha
I liked the first one, but will wait for price to drop to get this one. I am far enough behind in a lot of games that I can wait now.
I got it. Beat it. Loved it. The rags to riches story is a little more comical than GTA's, but I liked that. I loved the whole thing. I'm also (again) gonna go out on a limb and say I like SR2's shooting mechanics better than GTA.
My brother also likes SR better than GTA. ANYONE who's played them both online would be a damn lie to say that GTA can touch SR in online play
so i bought Saints Row 2, and I cant wait to play. But my mother in law is staying over and the pull-out couch is in my game-room. she goes to bed at like 9pm. i cant even bother starting this game tonight. oh to be a married man. sure marriage has its perks, tax breaks and regular(albeit unexotic) sex, but there is the down-side too.
Very addictive, and I love it. I'm just going to list a few reasons why it will never touch GTA: 1. Physics are absolutely horrendous. 2. Blood splashes look like Doom for Nintendo. 3. Car mechanics are terrible. 4. The AI is beyond stupid at all times. 5. Combat is weak. (Shooting, not melee) Great game, though. Love the endless customization. It's just not on the same level as GTA IV. Not quite complete, and definitely not even close to being as polished. I do prefer Saints Row 2's missions / story vs. Saints Row. Much more interesting, surprisingly. However, once again, GTA IV's story, although it got boring on the third island, was much more compelling and it had me hooked. Honestly speaking.....different games. I'd 9.5/10 GTA IV, and I'd probably 8-8.5/10 Saints Row 2 so far.
Eh. Both of them suck in terms of online play, IMO. But that's just me. I only like NBA 2k and shooters (Resistance, Gears, CoD, etc.) online.
just finished this. i had a blast. but??? Spoiler Whats the deal, I thought at the end of SR1, you were an undercover cop? It mentions gettin blown up on a ship and all, but theres no mention of bein a cop at all. Am I forgettin something?
The guy thats the current Police Chief was the undercover in the first one. Julius set you up to get you killed.
Yes go in the Police Department upstairs where all the cubical's are and listen to 4 audio tapes then in the same room there is a huge office go there and I think there is a phone call or something.
I beat it a few weeks ago. It was fun as hell. I'd of played it longer, but Resistance 2 / Gears 2 makes this a crazy month. I'll definitely go back and play it again in the near future. Like GTA IV, this is a game I'll never trade in.
I got saints row 2 and started the game up. Couple of questions... are side missions needed to beat the game? Secondly, is there a way to access a map? Not the one on the corner of your screen, but a bigger map showing locations and what not? I'd like to know where an ammo store is and stuff.
side missions are probably not required, but they give you cool stuff if you complete them. i actually went through periods where i'd just play side missions. to access the map i pressed select (i think) on ps3. i loved sr2. played it to %100 and even bought the dlc. gta iv on the other hand i haven't touched since i beat it. there's something really cool about running around the city in your underwear, all tatted up and wearing a pimp hat. i loved driving my light blue lambo with gold spinners.
