Who is Bramlet????
-
Casey Bramlet played college football at the University of Wyoming where he set new records in career passing yards, (9,684) TD passes (56) and completions (767). He is the only player in school history to pass for 3,000 yards in three different seasons. He started all 35 games in his final three seasons at Wyoming, and also scored 14 career rushing touchdowns.
Bramlet was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the seventh round (218th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft, and started the 2004 season third on the depth chart, but ended the season 2nd (to Jon Kitna) when Carson Palmer got injured.
The Bengals released Bramlet prior to the 2005 season, and he signed to play in NFL Europa (Then NFL Europe) with the Hamburg Sea Devils.
Bramlet started all 10 games of Hamburg's inaugural season, and led them to a 5-5 record with 1,463, 7 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions on 131-of-212 passes. His best game came in Week 4, when he was named Offensive Player of the Week after leading Hamburg to a 30-10 over the Frankfurt Galaxy, with 264 yards and 1 touchdown on 17-of-25 passing attempts.
In January 2007, Bramlet returned to the NFL, signing with the Washington Redskins as an unrestricted free agent. Few days after signing with the Redskins, he was allocated back to NFL Europa. On June 23rd, 2007 he led the Hamburg Sea Devils to a 37-28 victory over Frankfurt Galaxy in World Bowl XV, and Bramlet was named the game's most valuable player. As of August 2007 Bramlet is listed as the 5th string quarterback behind Redskins sixth round selction Jordan Palmer. On August 6, 2007, Bramlet was cut from the Redskins official roster.
On August 12th, he was signed by the Atlanta Falcons. With Michael Vick suspended and D.J. Shockley injured, Bramlet saw extensive action in the last two preseason games and started the 2007 season third on the depth chart behind Joey Harrington and Chris Redman. On September 19, 2007, Bramlet was released by the Atlanta Falcons. On October 25, 2007, Bramlet was signed by the Miami Dolphins to their practice squad. On December 22, 2007, Bramlet was added to the active roster of the Miami Dolphins.BigDogsHunt likes this. -
If he is legit, than to me that potentially changes our use of a draft pick on a QB if we sign a vet in FA. A 3rd string QB is a perfect role for now.

Did I read that right? Carey is a free agent?

since those are just the "base" salary and not the actual cap figure, anybody know how much room we'll have assuming none of these guys are cut before the 2008 free agency period starts? (side note, total base salary listed equals $58,279,266. I'm guessing we have another 20 to 25 mill locked up in cap room via prorated bonuses, etc... that gives us about 30 mill in cap space???)

Wow... Big Salaries for Porter, JT, and Zach...
Bummer Bell is a FA. Wonder if we will resign him. -
-
All I know is Marty "can't catch a cold" Booker will be long gone!!!!!!
-
M. Booker...good bye or lower salary.
Shelton...good bye or lower salary.
Peelle...good bye or lower salary.
Traylor...retire...thanks for the effort! No joke.
Goodman...good bye or lower salary.
Hill...good bye or lower salary.
Bell...should resign for a fair price. When healthy he is a playmaker. But look for Miami to draft a SS early in the draft. If not, sign another good Safety Starter type player.
JT...could be gone for a late 1st or early 2nd.
ZT...Small for Tuna's type...but he knows talent and will fit in good for the 3-4. If he wants to be gone then sure. But otherwise I think Tuna will keep him. We could not get more than a 4th for him. That sucks but the head injury (See Green & Others) might see him miss a lot of games next season. ZT is a beast and only knows one speed.........FULL SPEED BABY!!!
Hadnot...should resign for a little bit more than fair market value. Which by the way is pretty expensive. But Miami needs to sign him, if they do not sign a big time, big body free agent. We already need LG & RT.
That is my main short list. -
There was also a poster at FH named Merman who maintained a pretty accurate spreadsheet... unfortunately he hasn't updated it in a while but here it is:
