Nothing new, team hasn't proven anything yet.

Breaks my heart. I moved from West Palm in 2008 to NC for job/family reasons.....I'd be at every game if I was still down there. Can't wait to be back....one day

Ticket renewels being down is a good thing. It sends a clear message that fans are tired of paying to see the garbage that has been getting put out there. Fans make good faith purchases all the time, now its Ross's turn to do it.

It shouldn't be surprising. This is a godawful sports town, and the fact that there is a hot bandwagon to jump on is going to make it even more problematic.
Solution isn't hard either. All they've got to do is win, and people will come flocking back. Until the next hot thing, of course.Bumrush likes this. -
Even the Heat, with 3 superstars and riding one of the greatest streaks in NBA history can't generate enthusiasm at the venue. People showing up late, leaving early and missing the first 10 minutes of the 3rd quarter is more of the norm than the exception.
If we can't properly support a team of historic proportions, how can anyone expect the tri county area to get behind the Dolphins again? -

Well my dad and I from NY, and my brother from NC are heading down for a game this fall .... if that helps. We'll buy a lot of beer, I promise.

Or maybe the tickets are really expensive and people are waiting to see if the investment is worthwhile.
Got to love the self righteousness of people who don't live in South Florida, and will never buy a ticket pontificating about what others should do and what they would do if they lived here.
Ridiculous -

Miami sports fan suck, plain and simple. That's a fact.
However, if your goal is to sit around a bunch of clueless basketball fans with hot trophy wives, then the you're good to go. -
Are Boston sports fans bad because they left the stadium during the Wildcat game? -
I'm not saying passionate fans like us are the problem. Of course there are thousands of hardcore Heat and Dolphins fans that are as passionate about sports as any major market fanbase.
I am strictly talking about the stadium experience. It flat out SUCKS. Heat games are a fashion show. The fans never stand or really get riled up unless it's a close game with a minute on the clock. Same thing at JRS. I can't tell you how many times I was told to sit down on a big 3rd down play or turning point in game.
In all honestly I get so frustrated at these venues that I'd rather save my money and watch from home where I can pace around, scream and get fired up without a section full of people looking at my like I'm some weirdo.Aqua4Ever04, Killer Bees, Alex44 and 1 other person like this. -

Miami is a great market. When they are good and compete, they sell out. Sparano's first season, that last home game vs the Niners? Place was was jammed and rocking...and the place was jammed for the playoff Raven game.
It's not like NY or Green Bay where the drones come out no matter what. Build a winner and the fans do come.
It's the way it should be. Ross needs to feel the pressure to not stop until he has a winner on his hands, and never stop trying to get better. Because in Miami, you don't just bear the shame of leading a bad team, you hemorrhage money too.oakelmpine and Bpk like this. -
Leaping from what happens in courtside seating to "Miami sports fans suck" is absolutely asinine. Be careful of the company you keep with this opinion.oakelmpine and Section126 like this. -
Clearly it's the fans. There's just no way possible it could have anything to do with the teams recent struggles. None. Zero. Horrible, bandwagon fans. I mean, look at how the Heat started winning and now they're selling out every game. Stupid horrible bandwagon sports town.

Watch games everywhere else. it is the same.
The Heat fan does not deserve ONE OUNCE of criticism. They are paying through the nose, and showing up in droves.oakelmpine, Bpk and Desides like this. -

The Dolphins have to win their fans back, its as simple as that. -

Here is why ticket sales are suffering at JRS.
I HATE going to the games, and will only go for big games Patriots, Ravens, etc..) and the Jets.
I gave away 7 of the 8 games last year.
I much rather watch the game plus the red zone channel with friends, while good food and drink is being served.oakelmpine and Bpk like this. -

Why is it that commentary on Dolphins ticket sales and attendance turns into "Screw Miami sports fans, screw the Heat, screw South Florida"?

Just to be clear you are moving the goal posts -
The Dolphins are the ones that had the great big wake up call. For years they were the only guy in town, even after the Heat, Marlins & Panthers arrived they were no real threat.
Well people have a real choice now in being entertained. They can either pay for Heat games and see an organization that knows how to build a winner and win championships. The Marlins and Panthers are just pathetic and the public won't support them.
There also is this thing called MLB.TV and NFL Sunday Ticket. They make is easy and comfortable to stay at home and watch games, without heat, or an unruly neighbor sitting in front of you that is fat & smelly and more than likely drunk, or stoned, or both.
I paid for tickets for 34 years. I don't feel guilty in the least sitting at home these days enjoying my beer & home cooked hamburgers, hot dogs and potato salad on a Dolphin home game Sunday. -
